Who thinks this package is worth it? The car will not be my DD, and I'm pretty sure I'd rather just listen to the motor...

Would it help in resale value? Can't decide if it's worth the $3k.

Will it help resale more than spending the $3k for stuff you apparently don't want? No.

If the looks of the base radio is going to bother you, and make you feel like you have a cheap interior, then the $3000 is probably money well spent.

If you don't mind the base radio, and maybe even prefer having buttons over a touch screen, then the $3000 is probably not worth it.

I would have bought it if it was available on the 2016's, just because the huge bezel of the base radio kinda pisses me off. I never listen to the radio, and rarely use nav, so it would be almost purely a "looks" improvement for me.

agreed ^^^ - but a couple other thoughts:

Most reports are that even the upgraded stereo isn't all that great so though I have no personal experience with the GT350 $3K buys a hell of an aftermarket stereo.

Nav is nice even on occasion but a smartphone and mount can certainly work in a pinch.

Now, the base screen is tiny so I do appreciate the larger screen. On a lot of cars these days (base Corvette for instance) you get a large screen even without nav.

And it seems nit picky, but even something like Homelink is nice so you don't have an ungainly garage door opener hanging off your visor.

I'm not sure if all those little things add up to $3K, but it is close enough for me that I'll pay it.

Totally agree about the looks. I really don't like touchscreens in cars (work great sitting in the garage, not so much when driving down the road, also smudges) but the base unit is not very flattering.

My opinion, not worth it. I owned a 12 GT/TP Premium and never used the nav and frankly it is annoying to use. I purchased a 15 GT/PP base and couldn't be happier. Used my phone for every function Sync attempted to do but waaaaay better! My GT350 is a track pack. I knew it was not going to be my DD and I knew I was going to track it. The TP was the only choice for me. Being that the 17's come standard with the TP stuff, I personally do not see the reason for the electronics package. and if you are doubting, or second guessing and asking others for opinions, you probably really don't need it.

the sync3 nav is actually a huge improvement over sync2. with the carplay update that is coming, it will be even awesomer.

I dont mind the stereo's sound, as i'm not a car-audiophile. I prefer to listen to records at home.

All in all, i think that sync3 3 is worth it, and the base radio looks like butt in the dash. The toggle switches are nice too.

I am excited about Sync 3, it seems that they have made major improvements over Sync 2. I know that Sync 3 has in car wifi capability. Are the GT 350's going to have that with sync 3 ?

like, on the road wifi? yeah you can link a mifi or your phone. you can also connect your car to your home wifi network for updates and such.

I think my struggle is that for $3k I can buy an audio system that's 300 times nicer than the factory units, but I fully agree that the base radio is fugly.

I'm placing my order tomorrow and can't decide :/

The only music should be coming out the exhaust!

You will never miss the electronics package for a second

If you can afford the $3k I'd say go for it.

I should add:
I have a '16 Tech, but I really wanted something I couldn't get. Which was the track with tech pack features. AKA the R with electronics package and now the 2017 model with the elec. option.

+ I do not use the radio that often.

+ The USB connections are pretty cool. I've never had a car that I could play music off a USB drive. Even though I'm listening to the engine more often It's still a nice to have.

+ I do use the back up camera every time I take the car out. It's nice having that BIG screen plus it has a zoom-in feature! good for my old eyes.

+ Sync3 updates seem to be a positive, though I have not noticed any lately.

+ I'm glad I have the "good neighbor" toggle switch for the active exhaust. I find myself using it more often since I had my resonators removed.

Things I wish it could do (totally possible, through updates, if Ford permitted it)...
1. Connect to my Iphone and OBDII scan tool to display more of the car's sensors on the Sync3 screen.
2. Ability of Sync3 to connect directly to OBDII.
3. Ability of Sync3 to connect directly to OBDII and record data to my connected USB drive.
