Changes for 2017MY rhd cars

Latest from my ford dealer is news of changes to the 2017 build run of RHD cars.

Proper rhd conversion of wing mirrors and centre console.

The adjustment angles on the passenger mirror will be increased and the hand break and cup holders will swap sides.

No official confirmation to UK dealers about sync3 yet.

Fingers crossed my build date will be 2017MY now.....

That's good news. Ive been told that Sync 3 will def be on 17 cars by Ford and the dealers

MY16 cars have Sync 3, so yeah, you aint gotta worry about Sync 3 on the My17's unless something monumentally f**ks up with Sync 3.

LOTS of cars come with the handbrake on the left. Why would Ford bother going to the expense of re-tooling for something so minor?

Ditto really for the mirror issue. I just don't see them bothering.

Also of interest the dealer said they haven't taken any more mustang orders since February. He sounded pretty gloomy as all the demand is now for the focus RS. Since rhd cars seem to be made in batch runs, does that mean recent orders may take a while to make it into a large enough batch?

Don't worry about batch orders etc. You're fine on that, some dealerships go through peaks and troffs of orders. But yes, i'd predict Mustangs have slowed down since the Focus's hit, pretty typical with people not wanting a 'Big car' (It really aint big, i've got one and had a Yaris and Corsa before lol!)

I would take it all with a huge pinch of salt... Sync3 is definitely confirmed for MY2017 - the price list confirms that. I guess the other changes are "possible" - but in my opinion very unlikely... I am not convinced he knows what he is talking about.

Anyone else think the dealer is just trying to sell him the car up so he orders it? Really, I doubt anyone who's a dealer knows the changes on the build run for the RHD's. As everyone's said - pinch of salt, their aim is to sell remember that, just have a bit of cynicism with anything they say!

That being said, i've had exceptional customer service from my 'new' dealer after Phil handed me over to Louise!

Mines not MY16, it's a My15, built in 2016, the MY16's will start in April IIRC. So my car's a 2016 Mustang, but not a Mustang Year (MY) 2016.

Our cars are MY2016. MY2017 starts mid 2016.
