It had less hp. Being light doesnt make hooking on the street easier. It can aid to the trouble. You clearly dont drag race much. Either way its down on power compared to a full bolt on gtr. 495whp mustang vs 590-615whp gtr. The foxbody still out launched him with far less power on the street. Remember awd is so great?
Yup I am not drag race monster and sure woulldn't build a tiny motor of awd to the power level of gt500 and think it going fast with liittle weight.

 can you respond with complete sentences? You are hard follow. Sorry.
Lol. His response was out of anger and the enlightenment of being pwned! A similar response might have been "Oh yeah, well you're a doodoohead!" Except they would use "your".

Lol, I kid. I kid. Probably tired and in a hurry. Not very many posters proofread their posts or correct simple mistakes despite an edit button. Reminds me of Internet news sites. Haha!

AWD will make a high HP/high torque/large CI street car with street tires quicker 0-60 and through the 1/4 mile, period. And it's especially true of the comparison to a front engine RWD car.

I wonder if guys on Porsche forums go through this. Are there any Porsche forums? I think I may just sell a kidney, and get a 911 4S. Or not at all... Anticipating my mods is almost as much fun as getting a new car -- like getting a new car over and over. Those poor (not so poor) Porsche guys miss out on most of that.

An 700-800hp (not even talking whp) awd car on mpss or anything non radial or slicks will have traction issues. Id know. Im speaking from experience. Is anyone else?
2014 E63 4matic with eurocharged map , traction is an issue at all 4 wheels with MPSS :headbang:

I bet it is. :D

I think everyone sees these videos of high hp gtrs hooking and leaving supras, mustangs, camaros or whatever else. Little do they know that the gtr is most likely on r888s or radials/slicks. Also that the cars they are racing against are set up like ass. They just assume its because awd omgzors. Rwd= spin monsterZzzzzz

I hope no one gets me wrong. I like awd, i chose it for my daily for many reasons. But it is not the best drivetrain for racing. Its heavy, expensive and limited as all drivetrains have their pros and cons. Awd id definitely not anything that is needed in a mustang.

Noooooo, say it ain't so. It's got to be the awd that does it.
This mentality reminds me of people looking for cars in the town I live in. We average a 100" of snow a year. Everyone has to have a SUV or 4x4 truck(in their mind). As they pull into the dealership driving their fwd car. I just want to ask them, "how did you make it here through the snow then?" I can't believe I'm still alive. My first car was a 6 cylinder Chevelle with bias ply tires. My parents literally live on a ski hill. I'd back it up the driveway until it got too icy and park it at the bottom.
I think awd is great. My wife has an Escape with it. I've driven other vehicles with it numerous times. Volvo S60? I think that's the model? I have a 4x4 diesel heavily modded. It weighs 8000 lbs and breaks all 4 tires loose on occasion. I've thought long and hard about a Mustang with awd and it makes my toes curl.

:( Hey boss man, i didnt know what i was doing qualified as that. I dont recall calling anyone names either. I guess more happened last night.

Sometimes it's necessary to delete more than just the posts with the name-calling etc, otherwise certain replies won't make sense. As a number were deleted in one go, they all had the same explanation

Personally, I would like to see the GT500 with an FI 5.0 pushing about 600HP reliably.
I would also like to see them move to a full aluminum setup like the F-150 and drop about 15-20% of the weight off the car. Coupled with a good automatic option and suspension goodies from the GT350, it would make for one heck of a car, both straight line and on a track.
