What is Ford's take on these engine failures?

Says "Low pressure to open will handle 100psi+" I'm confused on what you are saying the difference is...the amount of pressure it takes to open it?

The difference is, that valve is a little piece of rubber, that gets sucked or blown against a stop depending on which way it is facing. That is all that is stopping vacuum, or pressure. They work great, but they are not great for high heat, or pressure. We have thermocouples on many of our turbo cars at the intercooler inlet, we routinely see temps over 400F. So you have a little piece of rubber seeing 400F, then cooling down, and doing this heat cycle thousands of times, it will fail, the question is only when. The Boomba is a nylon check ball. Its going to last forever in that environment.

Exactly "Low pressure to open will handle 100psi+".

Opens at low pressure, no information on when it will open either, and it will handle 100psi as a unit. It won't block 100psi when going in the other direction.

real quick, off topic, but is there an alternative to the boomba check valve that can also withstand higher PSI's?

jeez, I can't be the only one that thinks $40 is a lot of money for a check valve when already spending $200+ for the UPR DVCC.

I use Vibrant check valves on mine, but you don't save any money after you buy the AN fittings to go with them.

The other check valve is on the vacuum source from the turbo inlet. You shouldn't have to worry about that as you should never see boost pressure from there. If you by some weird chance did, that's some bad juju going on.

Yeah in order to have boost from that you would need to have a turbo before the turbo lol
