Is it just me or the angle or does the stripe taper in over the
Bonnet on the inside of the two stripes??

It doesn't taper, but the curve of the bonnet makes it look like it does from some angles.

White with blue is going to look fantastic. We never really considered white, but when I saw one on the road I was really impressed by it.

Stripes

How did you get stripes, did dealer organise. They look sensational. I am thinking of white stripes on magnetic. Unsure

The dealer started to organise but by the time they got the quote there wasn't time to get it done without delaying collection, so we picked the car up and got the stripes done ourselves the following week. We used the sign writing company that the dealer recommended who do all kinds of signage as well as vehicle graphics and full wraps. http://www.henshawsigns.co.nz if you want to see the sort of thing they do to compare with local equivalents.

It cost just under NZ$900 all up including pinstripiing the wheels, which I thought compared not too badly with the Bigworm kit that looks the same at roughly US$500 including fitting (in Texas).

The guy who did ours made the main stripes by hand off a roll of vinyl and they only used a computer for the side ones because of the GT logo. He does hand pinstripiing in paint for fun, so he's pretty good at this sort of thing.

He was booked to do an 05 Mustang with a kit the owner had imported from the US the day after. My guess is that the 05 owner would have ended up paying more than we did between buying the kit, having it shipped and then fitted, especially as he seemed to want it modified slightly.

I originally wanted Magnetic, but my partner doesn't like grey cars. The dealer demo we got to drive was Magnetic and we see it around town a fair bit. White would make it a lot more eye catching! We originally were going to go with white but then decided it might be too much so went silver. On Magnetic you could also go silver to go more subtle, or you could go with orange, or a bright green. Actually pretty much any colour would work on Magnetic now I think of it...

...Only thing I don't like is the advertising around the number plates. These aftermarket stripes work really well.
Fixed, with the help of a bottle of cut & polish, a rag and some elbow grease.

It does look a lot better, and now I think of it, while I got my Ranger from the same dealer in July it had Euro plates from new and they don't have Euro size surrounds so I supplied my own holders in plain black Also my motorbike arrived with a dealer sticker on its plate that I took off the second I got it home, so I should have done it proactively.

I'd go for a Silver on Magnetic Anthony.

Hi Ian,

Can I ask what size your rear plate is please? Is it US or standard QLD size? The front looks like a slimline with is it Larkin plate frames?

Hi Greg,
The front plate is a slimline Qld plate using a Lakin backing plate and Kingpin cover (prebent by Philip) and the rear is a fullsize Qld plate using the Lakin backing plate and Kingpin cover. Hope this helps.
Ian.

Thanks Ian,

Yes that sorts it for me. I currently have a US rear plate but kingpin don't make a cover for it. Looks like I'll swap it for a QLD full size as it looks great on yours and fills the space nicely. Car is a Sept build so I have plenty of time to sort it out :)
