Your bringing up a 20k mark up isn't even accurate. We're talking msrp. The z28 at 75k was not worth it then or now. And GM realizes this because of what ford offers for less money! That's my whole point.The Z/28 was a hell of a deal when it came out. There was nothing close to it for the price as far as track performance went.
The cost was justifiable based on parts/labor and design time. Show me where it wasn't. I'm not saying it was a bargain for someone like me because I wouldn't pay it. But it was for someone who wanted one hell of a track car for that price at the time.
The same people who try to say that the Z/28 wasn't worth that are some of the same ones that try to justify the 20k+ mark up on the GT350 and even higher. (Not saying you. Just making a generalization. Most people wouldn't pay it.)
Not saying the Z/28 didn't have mark up but plenty of people payed damn near the same price or even way more for a GT350.
