I have just over 6,000 miles on my car and the rear tires are done. No burnouts, definitely some spirited driving and daily driven and the tread is all but gone. I am looking into replacing the rear tires on my car.

My first question is would it be a good idea to just replace all four at the same time and spend a little extra? The tread on the front tires is still in good shape but I figure since the rear tread wore out so quickly the front tires probably wont last too much longer. I would rather buy all four together if the front tires are going to go bald in another couple thousand miles... does anybody have an experience with their front tires lasting a certain amount of time??

My other question is has anybody put Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2's on their car? This is the tire I am considering given the good reviews and economical price. They seem to have a pretty good treadware rating and performance similar to that of a Michelin Pilot SS.

I am open to any suggestions for other brands and any suggestions on replacing just the rears or all four!!!

Thank you in advance to anybody with useful suggestions!!

The best way is to get matching tires until you are changing all four.
For a RWD car the rear will wear twice as fast if you drive aggressively.
I had V12 EVO2s and there were terrible. They flat spot very easily. The sidewall is very soft. The compound is greasy when it gets hot.
I would not recommend.

Oh, interesting to hear your experience. Do you have any suggestions of tires you have had that you like? I would obviously love to get some Michelin Pilot Super Sports but those are definitely a little expensive for a whole new set...

I had good luck with Bridgestone potenza re050a. Tight sidewalls, gripy. The only thing is they don't last very long.

Agree on the Potenza, better than michelin. Sounds like your fronts will last through another set of rears.

Seems like you may want go to a square setup so you can rotate. That's what i'm doing but it just means I buy four new tires every year instead of two.

Yeah it would be nice to be able to do that but I dont really want to buy new wheels yet. I have the PP wheels which as you probably know is a staggered setup from the factory. any other websites other than tire rack you suggest I look at? They seem to have a somewhat limited selection in the sizes I am looking for (255 front, 275 rear)

I'm on my second set of rear P Zero's at 5K miles. Fronts still have plenty of life left so I couldn't justify changing all 4 just yet. Found new take off's for really cheap on eBay.

Just replace the rears. I think Discount Tire was running a special on ebay

I picked up a set of Potenza S-04 Pole Positions and absolutely love them so far. Great tires and much cheaper than MPSS.

I am now considering these. The only thing I am worried about is tread life. Like I said I dont do big burnouts but I love to launch hard when there is nobody around. I am hoping to get somewhere around 20,000 miles out of them. Definitely need to get more than the pathetic 6,000 miles I got out of my stock pzeros...

Ive been running MPSS on the rears and factory front tires for awhile with no issue. I think most ppl have OCD when it comes to matching tires. Unless you are really tracking the car hard, you wont have a problem.

Had Nitto Invos on the back of my GT500. They were pretty decent and were resonably priced.

Id do all 4 tires but if they are staggered i guess it doesnt matter much. Based on the research ive done i would rcommend these: mpss, continential extreme contact dw, nitto nt555 g2, nitto invo, mickey street comp., and nitto nt05. Trade offs with all of them. I will be trying out the conti's if they ever get shipped.
