I just ordered the "Sport" catback. Great experience with Corsa Tourings on my 2011.Has anyone done a dyno run before and after with the 3" catback systems out there? Just want to know what gains if any are there. Guess it will be 5-10 whp at most, taking the weight off the car is the better gain.
Steve

I recently swapped from a 3" MBRP cat back to a 3" Corsa Sport cat back, and had to readjust my boost controller. The Corsa mufflers flow more than the MBRP.

I leave around 4am, my extreme is loud no doubt but its half the cold start volume as my roush with resonator delete was.
That is actually reassuring given I figure my super 10 mufflers have to be pretty close if not louder than roush's. So when I pickup/have my corsa extreme installed by hypermotive this Wednesday (hopefully) it will actually be a reduced noise and easier on my neighbors.

There really is not a big issue with cold starts....just start driving immediately and the noise goes away.

Works for me.

I have catless LTs and sports and that's what I do.

Cold start loud but quiets quickly. It will take a bit of getting use the "loud". The first day I drove mine, I thought, oh shit I made a mistake because it was real loud. I know know how to balance the throttle and my speed to keep the noise down. You will not be disappointed one bit. It's a great system - 80 mph on the highway and you hear nothing.
+1 Amazing sound and control over it. IF you pass someone though be prepared to make old ladies crap themselves. It screams! But only outside the cabin, like zero interior noise with windows up, it is truly amazing.

Extremes just braking and downshifting. ^

Indeed, im loving it 95% as much as my former Maserati Granturismo exhaust - and that was truly World class.

Ahhh I would love to have the xtreme, but I'm having second thoughts now. I keep my car parked in the garage, and my next-door neighbor is probably 40 ft away and the neighbors across the street about 100 ft. They are probably used to my ls1 with GMMG exhaust starting up in the driveway, but I know that the corsa xtreme is louder. I'm looking at a future full of early mornings and I'd rather not piss all my neighbors off now and when I move lol. Maybe I should go with the corsa sport.

I don't think you would be disappointed with the sports. Shoot me a PM and I can get you taken care of.

I had a State Trooper graciously wait and let me in front of him yesterday and thought to myself, "this is your first test, don't eff it up". As I started from a red light, I started off in 2nd, shifted into 3rd rather quickly and just eased on the throttle until he and I parted ways. All the practice controlling the volume paid off .... This time any way

I was really really nervous before ordering the extreme that it would be obnoxiously loud on the coldstarts.

My last aftermarket exhaust on a BMW was too much during coldstart, and didnt really sound great either.
I have a carport, so startup levels is going to be amplified and I live in a housing area with alot of small kids, so I did not want to be "that guy".

My worries were over the top, it is loud when coldstarting it - BUT just get into gear and move out slowly - the sound goes away.
You only get the first roar when starting. Its not a 20 second noise barrier.

Love my extreme, I dont think the sports will be bad at all - but everyone I know who saw or drove my car says its the best thing since sliced bread.
Not only my male petrol-head friends, but their girlfriends love it too!

Also, I saw some videos comparing the Cold start between extreme and sports that concluded they were about the same volume....

Good luck :)

So my .02

I bought the Sports with the full intention of getting long-tubes. With just the cat-back the cold start wasn't very loud. I could hear it, but it wasn't so obnoxious that anyone complained. The great thing about the Sports is you can cruise around town and never even know you had an exhaust until you roll into the throttle.

Now that I have my LTs installed, it's a different story. Cold start is quite a bit louder, so much so that I try not to sit in the driveway too long. And cruising at 2K RPM you can tell there's an exhaust but it's not super loud...but certainly louder than without the LTs.

Hope this helps you.

I'm running a catless/xtreme set-up and go to work 3-4x/week at around 05:30am. Thus far, the neighbors haven't complained. I start her up and let her warm up in the garage with the door cracked open ever so slightly while I'm still in the house. It's loud as hell, but I'm short-shifting leaving the neighborhood anyways. No point in racing out at 5am. Once I'm out of the neighborhood and onto the main roads though, it's a different story. 1st-4th WOT on the highway with the windows down and I don't need caffeine anymore.
