Okay. Tijuca is expected on new York in about 10 hours time then sails for baltimore. My car has already done more sea miles than me, pedalos and docked yacht parties apparently ain't over a couple of miles in my life! Tijuca is moving at around 20mph.

JUST HAD AN UPDATE FROM MY DEALER!

The ship Mignon operated by WWL has pulled into Zeebrugge at 1pm this afternoon. Its a car carrier. It'll be arriving in Southampton on the 20th. Cars from the Torago are currently in the compound waiting to be shipped and my dealer expects them to be on this one.

He said my delivery date has fallen back to the 16th of April, but he suspects that's just Ford's system being stupid as per usual.

The ship will be departing on the 18th and arriving in Southampton on the 20th.

I'd take that with a pinch of salt, particularly if it's come from your dealer. I'd guess he is surmising that because it's a WWL vessel it will be taking (the remaining) Tarago cars. Most mustangs are brought over from Zeebrugge by other operators and as of yet the WWL track & trace is not showing any Mustangs loaded onto the Mignon.

I was told last week by Karen that my car "WILL be on next (this) weeks vessel to southampton, which should be there Sat 19th" - so it is close. However, yesterday I was also told that there was no name for the vessel and that they would chase up MONDAY's sailing to see if I'm on that.

Nothing is tallying at the moment from any source.

Manders - whilst dealers can go and collect, this will obviously cost them and margins are slim on the cars as is (I'd reckon on £500 a unit).

It was £500 when the cars were £32,995 (as per an official Ford Document that got posted on the forums a while back). With the price increases to £34,995 they're now making a far more healthy profit per car. £2500 to be precise.

Maybe its time for Ford to export the non-premium pack GT and EB. Because £35,000 is getting further away from "blue collar hero".

Firstly, you're assuming that all remains the same in terms of dealer margin with the price rise. Seen the dollar rate recently? Unless you're a dealer or have specific inside info, I would avoid such assumptions.

Secondly. if you really want me to be pedantic, I know that because my order was placed after the initial cutoff and price rise, THEY had to cover the difference. As such, they are in the hole for a further £1k from the get go.

So good luck in getting your dealer to make a 'special' trip to collect your car - but I wouldn't bank on it.

Best get poking the dealer with a stick then matey! Remember it does have to clear security checks but that don't take long!
