Bingo.

Except the next words from the piles mouth will be as follows..... "But the new Camaro benchmarked the last gen 1le" and then we get into the problem that it was also mentioned that the 6th gen was as fast or faster than the outgoing 1le.

However, with what I drove the past two days on an actual road course, the new Camaro will be a pleasant surprise to the amateur and pro drivers in both the scca and nasa events.

No, the 2015 GT cleaned house last season. Many 1LE's didn't pass the Regionals... This test just ensures there is no huge advantage in FS and there doesn't need to be any up classing.

The 2016 SS is FS bound... nothing special...

Was the Camaro a 1SS? I honestly do not know. If it was a 2SS, then the premium argument is mute. I am not doubting that the S550 is fast ( it sure is ), but isn't the 1LE faster. I mean you did post the link that proves that it is.
It weighed 3810lbs. It looked like the 2014 champions car. If so, it is the fastest stock 1LE on the planet. There were many that were crushed early on.

Yeah I am sure Chevy sent a ringer to this SCCA guy so their 5th gen 1LE would win

No, Chevy had nothing to do with it. The 1LE was legal and legit as was the other competitors.

The results are the results, it's no big deal. I tried to make this info availible that year but was called a liar.

Well... now it's here and you can read it.

thePill's main purpose on this site was always to get the most accurate info out first. I did the absolute bed and beat C5/C6 to the punch on many occasions. Why would I make up stuff when there were real races being won by the GTPP?

That makes no sense...

Some of you so hopelessly try and discredit thePill's message you forget the info brought up.

Now your mad it was correct... I can't really alter your mood.

Yes we know the results are the results. The Camaro is faster. It says so....in the article.....that you posted.

Yep, the competition focused 1LE is 0.25 seconds faster than a Premium GTPP with a full tank. It's a volume car...

I'm not sure why a Premium being on top of a 1LE in an SCCA test bothers you. It's done with, thread over. The best Camaro is 0.25 seconds faster than the Premium.

However, the GTPP last season? Whooped on the 1LE's ass. That is history though and so is the comical 1LE. It makes me wonder what a 3740lbs GTPP with 50lbs less fuel would have done in the test.

Probably the same thing it did last year, be consistently faster.

I'm not sure why a Premium being on top (actually on bottom because it lost) of a 1LE in an SCCA test bothers you. It's done with, thread over. The best Camaro (the mid level performer of the last generation) is 0.25 seconds faster than the Premium.
Fixed it for ya.

What I find amusing is that the SCCA tested the 2016 SS in the same fashion. It wasn't as fast as the 1LE was that same day

Which is the ONLY reason it's in FS this year.

So, a Premium that is endanger of overtaking the best Camaro in its class is good for me. If the '16 SS is only as fast as the 1LE, I'm not real worried this season.

If the new 1LE is allowed, then it would probably suck.

The 2016 LT/SS Camaro was added to the FS class appendix on 23 November 2015.

They have had this information since October and everyone in the SCCA knows what it's capable of.

The main concern for Camaro hopefuls is the stock wheel width. The few that are interested are not happy with the 9 inch wheel.

Check the SCCA forums prior. There was a lot of "The SS is gonna be an AS class car". Yeah? How bout no...

The wheel/tire width is a major concern and cited as to why it's FS bound. And mainly responsible for its performance.

It needs more track and tire!!!

Which is where it should be. Now the next question is how do you think it will fair in the FS series. You haven't seemed to give it a chance. All indications are that it should be on par or better than the S550.

Meaning their won't be any cleaning house.

That's ok. The 1le will take care of that issue. Also, just because it is a concern doesn't mean it can't be the dominant performer in FS. Not saying it will be.

Because a superior chassis, that is lighter, with a more powerful engine is going to be slower. Got it.

Right now, nobody has a 2016 registered that I know of. Nobody in Regionals yet but there could be someone.

We had a 2016 SS here, I put pictures on FB. The owner isn't convinced he wants to take it to FS.

He's quick at Pitt but not anything that will shake up the history books. He needs to scratch it and stop being a girl.

It is hands down the ugliest Sports Coupe on the road today. It's so corny and GTO-ish.

It won't last long.
