When I got my Whipple set up I was dead set on using E85 so I went with Lund for tuning and ID 1000 fuel injectors.

Working with Lund was great! Obviously he knows what he is doing and I couldn't have been happier with the tune and tuning experience. The car runs perfect on his tune and made butt loads of power. So much power that I was content to not use E85 anymore.

But as the last 6 months went by all the sudden Whipple SC has cars trapping 134mph and flight control features! I was convinced after my research that the Whipple tune would in fact be faster and further prevent me from wanting to go E85. :headbang:

So I did it this weekend. Pulled off the ID1000's and put on the Whipple 72# injectors and flare tool. I just finished loading the cal this afternoon and was able to drive it tonight.

My highly accurate butt dyno says probably ~75rwhp more than Lund..(maybe more). I am dead serious...it is significantly faster. It feels completely different in the last 3K rpm.

Still running the same 3.75 pulley and 91+octanium as before.

Again I want to reiterate that the Lund tune was perfect, and I understand his tunes are more conservative...but wow this is a big difference here. So happy I changed it up. And by the way drivability between the two is equal...I can't notice a difference...just more power!

Awesome job Whipple SC! This car is a beast!

EDIT: will try out flight controls tomorrow

Pictures for awesomeness:D

I'm trying to understand the logic here:
you had too much power with lund e85
so you stepped down to pump gas to have less power
then you switched tunes and are now really impressed with having more power?

or did you stop using e85 because it's inconvenient for you?

I don't think that he had gotten tuned for e85 yet. That requires a full fuel system upgrade. So, 91 octane tune with Lund vs Whipple. Whipple's tune is going to make more power everytime.

You guys are killing me. I have been aggressively saving for a down payment on a gt350 or maybe even the rumored Mach1. Don't know, just saving my ass off. Lately though, after reading all the great reviews on Whipple, I find myself day dreaming about a Gt auto build with a Whipple Supercharger. Damn you guys make this confusing. If I go this route, I wouldn't buy the car until I have a 5k down payment and 17k mod money saved. Close but not there yet.

That's awesome my friend!

Be sure to put your flight control settings in the thread I made for comparison.

I get to drive mine in a week or so and will document my findings.

Whipple has changed the game with their S550 tuning!

Good stuff!

Off topic but what tyre sizes are you running and how do they cope with the power from the whipple, does it hook in 2nd gear in the dry?

I would not be willing to give up E85 or I would try it.

You know a blown GT and a GT350 are different purpose cars, right? Of course you do, forget I asked.

Here's an idea...now hear me out...GET BOTH!

It depends on what you want. My choice was a GT PP and modify it. At the same price point, I would only have a stock GT350. I had a GT350 try me on the highway the other day. Not a challenge for the whipple.
