My first real road trip and thoughts.

I've took possession of my car Nov of 14 and just turned 7k on odometer. Needless to say it's just a weekend cruiser for me. I decided to drive it from Northern Indiana to Atlanta ( about 600 miles)area to go watch my boy play some ball on his college spring games. 1st I wasn't sure if the Recaro's were going to be for a long haul, unbelievably comfortable! Gas tank, although small made it nice to have a few stops to break up the trip. I put Eibach proline springs and sway bars on and the choppy ride was gone, even in sport mode, again unbelievable ride and feel to the car. The 3.73 gears, wouldn't change, at 75/85 mph in 6th gear the car just seemed happy. I very rarely ever use 6th around home. Average mpg 22/23 not bad for a 600rwhp supercharged car! Through the entire trip down my only concern was a piece of something I ran over on I 75 and thinking " I have no spare tire "! So I went to the gauges display and watched tire pressure for a bit. I head home today, so another 8hours or so in this car and I can't wait. On a side note down here in Atlanta area I've never had so many people ask to take pics of my car!!

Do you have sportline or prokit springs? Or is there a 3rd option called proline? Serious question.

Glad to hear it was bearable. I got my GTPP in Dec and usually make an annual trip from GA to N. IN yearly to see family. You make this trip in 8hrs? That's really good. I am 1.5hrs from ATL so have a little farther to go and go all the way to Michigan City or Portage.

Haha, small world. I grew up in Chesterton. Visited Michigan City and Portage all the time as a kid in the 80's.

Gotta love the ease in which these cars make power, yet are docile enough to be good highway cars. 23mpg is pretty damn decent. Nice Stang man!

Wife's family is from Portage/Mich City. Mine are a few miles south in DeMotte.

I bought the proline kit witch came with springs and sway bars, the ride is fabulous!

It was right at 8 hours, South Bend to Carterville. Great trip. I'm almost home just stopped to visit my other son who lives in Indy!

Now to finish the day, It's been killing me to keep this to my self, while at my sons game in Carterville, Georgia. My ford sales guy called me and told me they had received one last allocation for a GT350. I ordered it over the phone, black on black with the track package!!!! He's hoping 8 weeks but prob closer to 12 weeks!!

The 60L tank on the Stang at first bothered me but how much longer do you wanna drive without a break, you know?

I'm amazed you're getting pretty much the same MPG as somebody with a stock PP on the highway...what's up with that?

Wife's family is from Portage/Mich City. Mine are a few miles south in DeMotte.

Seems that there's of few of us from Northern Indiana.

Grew up in Hobart and have family scattered around in Portage, Crown Point, Valparaiso, Shelby, Thayer, and Roselawn.

In exactly one month from today I'll be driving from the Chicago suburbs to Florida (Oralando, Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg). It's about 2300 miles round trip. Looking forward to it.

I am heading on a road trip today, around 5000 kms in 8 days. The recaros are a concern, the first leg of the trip is Victoria BC, Canada to Los Angeles in one go, 20 hrs.
