Hey guys,

Just wondering what the take-up would be for a Midlands Mustang Meet-up? This will be the topic for the preliminary numbers, dates, and recommendations for locations.

Off the top of my head in the Midlands we've got the following

Nottigham American Car Meet (hooters notts) - Someone else maybe able to give more detail on this. Hooters in nottingham seems to have an american car meet, we could be able to turn up as a convoy and out muscle everyone (if you don't mind the bad pun!)
http://www.mocgb.net/forums/showthread.php?66843-Hooters-of-Nottingham-American-Car-Sundays-2015
MOCGB seemed to do it quite a bit!

Curborough race track - Nice country roads (no speed camera's) nearby, way out in the middle of nowhere, decent track to take the mustangs round, could get some nice clips/pics etc, some nice pubs not too much further than a 10/15minute drive away. Got a few people around here who know people that work there, I also know the owner so should be able to talk about this to him.
Info:
http://www.trackdaydrivers.com/index.php?go=tracks&track=1:curborough-sprint-course
(Yes any drift lovers, it's a sweet haven for drifting should you be brave enough! I'll probably just drive around in 1st haha!)

Pub meet - Much like the meet's TT seems to hold down south, there's a few nice, more affluent pubs in the four oaks area of Birmingham, i've got an idea for one, however open to more recomendations, could go, park the cars up, have a drink/meal and talk about the Mustangs.

Hinckley Dyno Day - Can't remember who recommended this, but a dyni-day out at a Hinckley tuners doing some dyno runs and what not. @MyMilkshake... to confirm

If you're willing to travel 'up/down' depending on geographical location, or if you just want to see some more cars then drop me a topic conversation, seems the Midlands have been somewhat left out on all these car meets! Happy to see any prospective Mustang buyers there, people in non-S550's etc.

And yes, this is alliteration being used to it's full potential, Manders Mustang's Midlands Mustang Meet

A Dyno Day would be great fun! I can get that arranged as I know the guy very well! Just let me know a date & I can get it organised,

I like no speed cameras too! ;)

Pub sounds like a good idea as well!

Well done Manders! :)

Yep, we'll see the take up regarding dyno-day, if people want to do that then we can do that, just need to see what peoples preferences are for each first.

Dates i'd be looking at sometime in May/June time, selfishly i'd prefer it to be some more time after i'd got my car so i've had some time to break it in. and then gives other buyers who're waiting a chance to have theirs by then too :)

Can't say i've got a single clue how to do a poll, so if Kristian87 can drop a reply telling me how to i'll put a poll on this thread too :)
Hello mate, I would be up for a midlands meet, depending on date and if I am available...

Get a date & location sorted first, my vote would be a nice coutry pub. Hooters sounds like fun but won't be for everyone, especially those bringing their other halves!

You can add a poll to this thread, click on the "thread tools" link a the top of this page & follow the instructions.

Hi there

Hooters, dyno day are great ideas!
The circuit not a bad idea but that circuit is more suited to smaller cars, not yank tanks. ;)

I am up for a meet in March, April, most of May except last week, June is completely off the cards as I am in far east for whole month, July should be OK and after should be fine.

March/April would be good, I'd say my favourite is a dyno day! :)

Might be the same one that my younger brothers seen in Warwick at the Uni, apparently it's one of the top dogs at the Uni's car, but that's all student rumours! Was it custom pack too?
Gibbo205 Cheers, tried to avoid July/August as it's heavily barrened with Holidays for most people as kids will be off school and what not, usually peak holiday times. Will look into those months as well, would be nice to have your knowledge there especially with it being local to you ;). March is off the cards due to weather - although i'd still turn up, Mustangless (being a bit selfish)
Agreed re circuit, but there's some days you can get up and just cruise round, not go for a proper spring around it, the straight it quite good for just running the stangs up - as we all know we can't do corners ;) ;).

They do corners extremely well, the kit I've thrown on my car I am gob smacked with the corner speeds it can generate, it is more or less on par with my 911 and its still running those crappy Pzero's. But a small tight circuit will always benefit the dedicated track car (caterham) or a small hot hatch. But the track would be cool for just cruising and blasting up the straight and even better if enough of us went someone filming us all going past full chat would make for a great exhaust sounds comparison. :D

Track, dyno, hooters, up for them all, maybe we should just try to arrange something like:

Dyno day first: March/April because weather does not matter, the dyno is inside. ;)
Track: Say early May for just cruising around and filming.
Hooters: July for when evenings are still daylight, say a 7-10pm weeknight meet. :)

I'm not too fussed! Some good points raised, similarly to gibbo why not do them all :)

Just set up some dates & we can get the ball rolling! :)

Dyno day does not do much for me until we have all modded our cars, mine and many others ar just stock on the performance side at the moment. I would still go if it went this route though.

Basically though, I am in if the dates and location are right

You would be surprised how each stock car will put down different figures, some may be 20bhp up or maybe more,

Take home a nice print out of your baseline :D

Another reason I wouldn't wanna do it. If I am down 20bhp on the published figures I will go away unhappy. I would rather not know!

Curborough sounds perfect to me.
