Manders Mustang's Midlands Meetup - 8th may

Great meet today, nice putting some more faces to names. Nice to see 3 ecoboosts in the same place too! Weather was superb beer in the sun whilst oggling Mustangs is always a great day in my book

Got a lot of photos to post, will do so in the week

Manders thanks for organising a great meet and ordering such fantastic weather.

Was great turn out and really good chatting to everyone.


Looking forward to photos, I took some but with an iphone and before everyone arrived so I shall stick them up in my own thread if any of them came out half decent, knew I should of brung my proper camera with me.

So the turnout, totalled at 9 Mustangs, albeit one CO only stayed for 20minutes! Which all in all, i'd class as a good turnout personally !

The weather was brilliant topping at 25c towards the end, but was never below 20! The car's on show got a lot of looks and attention, even to the point of sticky children's fingers on them (ahem...)

Don't think we could have asked for any better weather to be honest!

Special thanks to [MENTION=13598]Gibbo205[/MENTION] for letting me very spiritedly drive his beast (And also showing me how to really drive it before hand...needless to say it handles like nothing else, just glides round, roundabouts (Or skids...!))

Was awesome to drive up to the venue with Kristian, Rob (In his volvo - small world fancy you knowing Will!), and RSP Cooper! So nice to see the sights of two Mustangs following suit into the venue, sight for sore eyes, couldn't stop checking my rear views!


Anyway, thank you to everyone who turned up, here's my pictures of the day!

I'll plan ahead better next time! HERE maps said it would take 3 hours to get there - people who have actually driven there say it's more like 5 and only told me so this morning. Compound that with being late by having to call the credit card company and everyone would've left by the time I got there. :frusty: Didn't feel like doing a potentially ten hour round trip for nothing. :(

So if you do another one, make it a Saturday so I can have a £30 travel lodge for the night and not have to take a day off of work, will ya? :lol:

Actually that wouldn't be a bad idea - overnight drinks. :cheers:

Can get cheaper places in Sutton Coldfield, or even further out, for an overnight saturday stay ;)!

Will try Saturday... Or you could drive and stay the night before, most hotels are cheapish still!

It's also about 3 1/2 hours, not 5. It's mainly down on the A1. Not sure what [MENTION=8914]Big_G[/MENTION] thinks the run is like, i've only done it once but know he travels a fair bit.


Anyway, next meet i'll get booked in for August I hope, might even try June ;D
