That's why I always stop a couple of car lengths behind the car ahead of me. Being able to creep up into that open space has prevented me from getting rear-ended several times.

That's why I always stop a couple of car lengths behind the car ahead of me. Being able to creep up into that open space has prevented me from getting rear-ended several times.

yeah.. elevated roadways with no shoulders really do not facilitate a strategy like that....

a very large portion of roads in southern louisiana are elevated with little to no shoulder.

Sadly the two times I've been rear-ended this wouldn't have mattered. They were completely oblivious to the world.
