So I'd like to do some datalogging, but I'm unsure which gear and RPM range tuners prefer when doing an e-tune. Which gear and RPM range do you guys suggest for datalogging? I've been searching for the answer but I've come up with nothing and I figure you guys would have the answer.

For reference, I'm using a Lund nGauge and the car is an M6 with 3.55s.

I'm in the same boat as you, what I found is a 3-5 min run including normal driving with some 3rd gear WOT pulls. After that Lund will drill down on what they want specifically

I had a Subaru STi before this and we always logged in 3rd gear for e-tunes, so that's what I assumed.

I like to keep the WOT logs separate from the cruising logs just to make it a little easier to read.

It logs into a csv, so Lund can apply filters in Excel for pedal position = 100. If you're curious do a log and copy it over to your computer and look around at it. Did you get the Flex tune? Or just standard tune?

93 octane tune, not flex fuel.

In for updates for sure. I'm actually curious how big of changes that they make for you. I sent my first log in a few days ago, just waiting to hear back. I went with Flex, but the log I sent them was on 93. Our differences are you have a 110MM MAF and I'm only at 105MM. In the tuning world I was told that the different MAF sizes would still use the same MAF curve. With that being said I imagine with the amount of CAI only cars Lund has tuned, the initial tuned is probably pretty dialed in

Yeah my car seems to be running very well with the intake and tune...but the intake makes this squeeking noise at 1/3 throttle and it's driving me nuts :headbonk:

Around what RPM? From about 2k-2500ish I can hear my intake sucking in air, I have a Roush but it sounds like air getting sucked through a tube. YouTube some videos of people who freshly installed their JLT and see if the sound is close

I can hear it sucking in air, but it also squeaks lol. I had an intake on all my other cars so I know the noise they normally make. This one is weird...I googled it and it seems common with the JLT.

If it truly is annoying the next route seems to be Steeda intake. I'm not Lund but I'm not sure they can assist with the sound in the tune, not sure if you were looking for them to do that though. I'm actually jealous of your JLT, I went with roush because it has the stock 85MM MAF insert (no tune) then when I had enough money for the ngauge and flex tune I removed it and all is well. I'm not sure what WHP I'm missing out on

Nah I'm not expecting them to help with the squeak. I think it's just part of the JLT intake (unless there's a fix I don't know of).

I'm new to the Mustang world so I'm trying to find the right information. Surprised it's so hard to find the correct way to datalog these cars.

I was surprised the Ngauge came with no instructions, and what's on lunds site is vague. Tapping around on the device for 30-40 minutes eventually figured it out though, but first time users the experience has room for improvement

So it's not just me. I thought they just forgot to put instructions in mine.

Well 5th gear is 1:1 on the mt82 so I would assume you'd do wot in that gear.

I don't think they expect you to be doing pulls to 140 mph lol
