I had the resonators removed today, and my god, what a difference!

Incredible sound under acceleration, and especially notable on the downshift blips.

For what it costs, I'd highly recommend doing it for anyone looking to uncork their car a little. In 6th or with the valves closed, it's literally the same as it was before, so no sacrifice on drone or obnoxious cabin noise.

I plan on doing this on my way home from the dealership. :headbang:

Got a few UK people - I grew up in London.

Anyway put 380 miles on my Shelby GT350 - it does EVERYTHING sooo well - i'm still in a sort of shock. I expected good don't get me wrong - but this is just ridicolous. I see why Road and Track magazine rated it 2016 winner. And the sound....no words.

Other cars I had been test driving and considering for my new track toy over the last 14 months include the 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo PDK, 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo (6Speed), Porsche 997 GTS PDK, Ferrari Modena (6speed) and the Corvette Stingray Z51.

THE SHELBY BLOWS THEM ALL OUT OF THE WATER....NO COMPARISON.
Wow, I need this car.

We had one last week with a syringe and drugs up her va-j-j. I swore I wouldn't touch the exhaust but the Limey now has me convinced otherwise. I've been going to the same muffler shop for literally 40 years. As much as he smokes this will likely be the last cool car of mine he mods.

Ha a Coke can is every week. The worst I have seen is a 15 cm cucumber stuck in a guys large intestine after some ass play gone wrong. You woudnt believe what people do behind shut doors. There are some sick puppies out there.

Very kind, thank you.

Indeed, there's definitely some interesting aspects to medicine, and never a dull moment.

The response to the cars at college was overwhelmingly positive, just the odd stupid comment. I was pretty well known on campus, especially having the cars and a British accent! Never had a single incident of damage either to any of the cars, which was a relief.

Seems we have a few physicians here then :)

Call in the ED is great isn't it :headbonk:

I guess I would be the one calling you from the ED.

night shift 3/4 this week tonight!

Decided to go with the track pack wing in the end. I've noticed the OEM R wing has fallen in price dramatically in the past few weeks, so maybe soon it will become a little more reasonable.

Almost 2k miles on the car now, and still very happy with it. Think I may pick up something else as well though soon, especially since I just sold my 911R allocation.

Just curious... how much has the factory R spoiler gone down too? And wow I'm sure you've done well with that 991 R allocation... ;)

BTW I noticed you had an MP4-12C... have you tried the new 570S yet? I'm comparing it to the new Huracan LP580-2. I know they're two different engines and the Mac comes out at least 30k cheaper in my build configurations. I also heard the 12C isn't too far away in terms of performance metrics to the 570S... any insights/suggestions?

I did very well from the R allocation, and I hadn't intended on parting with it, but someone offered $175k over for my spot!

IMO the 570S is what the 12C should have been. I can't fault the MP4 for its technical ability, but I had issues with build quality, parts, and the dealer network. The 570 seems to take everything the 12C had, and refine it for a more daily friendly usage. I was never a huge lover of the 12C/650 interior but the 570 is major improvement. Performance wise, I think you'd be hard pressed to really tell the difference between them, they're pretty close.

The 580-2 is the bargain of the moment though, I'm almost tempted to pick one up with no upgrades and have some fun. I'd suggest you drive the 570, but not if you really want to buy the lambo, as I suspect it may cause you some conflict.

Thanks for the feedback... I drove the Lambo, actually both LP610-4 and LP580-2 back to back. I could tell the 610 had a little tad more power particularly torque but the 580-2 is the better buy considering the price delta. The performance difference isn't big at all. Plus that proven tried & tested V10 is a howling screamer at mid-high rpm's expecially in Corsa mode. I will test drive the baby Mac soon so I'm also keeping my options open. If I pull the trigger and build/order one, this would be my first exotic car. :D

I prefer the RWD models anyway, they're a lot more exciting, which is good, because I've found the more modern Lamborghini's to be a little too clinical for my tastes.

It's a tough decision, but at least you won't have to contend with losing huge money on a Mclaren now, as they've stabilized.

Good luck with the decision, and enjoy it! Buying your first exotic is a major achievement, and a very special day indeed.
