Nothing good. 2:19 I hope to get down to at least 2:15 today.

Bummer about the tranny temps, someone on the other forum posted a similar experience, was thinking maybe just a fluke but perhaps not.

Running clockwise or counterclockwise?

CVR is my favorite track, extremely jealous right now:cheers:
CCW. It's my first time here! Not a bad track, the camber changes keep it challenging and a couple of turns have you trying all sorts of different lines.

CCW is great.

You are correct, so many interesting ways to approach that track.

Have fun out there, if you have any questions about how to attack any of the turns let me know :first:

I assume the air duct-style scoop for the regular Mustangs won't fit?

FP says no, not without modifications. It'd probably help a little but not enough.

Bought some track photographer shots as is required for inaugural drives in new cars. I'm particularly fond of the turn-in shot.

Somewhere along the way today, I managed a lap that was 5 seconds quicker than my average. Look forward to reviewing the video for that.

I like to disassemble things.
Great shots Matt. Crazy, how that "turn in" shot captures the difference in rubber between the GT350 and the SN95 behind you. These cars have come a long way.

so because i've been pondering tech or track for the past few days, and because it seems that swapping in sync 3 would be a complete pain in the ass, I started doing some research.

I'm no fluid dynamics whiz, BUT, i figure that in order to cool the transmission down by about 30-40 degrees on a hot day ( I live in louisiana, so this will happen for me too), you probably need to move 2-3GPM.

now I havent had the chance to take a look at these transmissions, but I'm going to assume that they have a drain plug and a fill plug on them.

If that is the case, something like this: Linky , coupled with the appropriate tubing and a cooler with adequate surface area ( like this) would do the trick to keep your trans temps under control.

The pump that i linked could be hooked up to a thermal switch that is calibrated to 30 degrees below the thermal limp mode trigger point, if you didnt want to run a simple switch.

This pump is generally used to provide oil supply to turbochargers, so I believe it can handle the temps.

Nascar teams use this crazy driveshaft powered mechanical pump for the dif coolers that moves about the same volume, but i highly doubt that there is enough room under these cars to do that.

Anywho, you could probably piece this whole kit together for less than $500 is you shopped around.

Perhaps it is worth asking Ford racing how much volume the track package mechanical pump moves? it might give us some indication as to whether an electric pump is viable.

If any of the vendors want to leverage this info to package something up that is easy to install, be my guest!

I'm trying to see if I can get any shops interested in working something up. Starting with seeing if opening the trans and adding the pump is cost effective for a shop to do. But an external pump is probably the most reasonable but I'd really love for it to be completely OE.

Here's some video from yesterday...

Here's me... 2:13.8

Here's my buddy that also runs ST2 in his '12 Boss 302 (and way better driver than me). 2:05.7

The car was running stock alignment and overall didn't feel too understeery, or at least you could apply throttle and pushing it back in expeditiously.
