Hang on - just how many cars go from the US to Europe? Surely the majority are going the other way?
A lot of these ships are on 'merry go round' schedules and can still have European cars to drop off at the other stops after Baltimore. Ford will surely have to make this more predictable however if the Edge, built in Canada, is to avoid the same uncertainties.

My car has not turned up on WWL's tracking service yet. So its either not left the docks or its on a K-Line ship.

To add insult to injury I've just had to buy two new front tyres for my Kia today. Tyres on a front wheel drive hot hatch are bad enough, even worse when they're Michelin PS3s that go bald if you do so much as look at them funny. This car isn't even two years old yet and this is already the second time I've had to replace the front rubber.

Either that or I'm driving the car "correctly" ;)

Yes, same, though given the length of time others have spent at the docks I'm assuming the former.

benanderson89, SteveS, slowhand99 - it would appear us guys are all in the same boat (or not as the case may be)!

Do you know when your cars arrived at the docks? Mine been there since 4th Jan, so 4 weeks as of tomorrow.

Think yours has been there longer than mine. I was told on 5th Jan 2016 that the car was built and at 'gate release'. ETIS was showing build of 29th Dec and then subsequently updated with the spring details and build changed to 15th Dec (same as date on sticker). I politely followed up 2 weeks (Manders please note ;)) later, 19th Jan, and was told 'now at the US docks and is awaiting vessel allocation'. Was planning to follow up with Stacey this coming week.

Shutup, I don't do polite or waiting. Impatient and rude is my style, otherwise it's :ninja::paddle:!

On another note, i'd just chase as much as possible, what's the harm, it's only an email!

Except, it's then one more whining email that a few poor souls have to wade through, when there are many other people in the same position.

My car is built and is now in limbo whilst it waits to be put on a ship.

Do I email Karen/Stacey every day to bellyache about it?

No. And the reason why is that it's pointless. Your order is being processed. Yes, it's frustrating snd irritating - but we're all aware of the reasons and unfortunately they are largely beyond our - and their (FMC UK) - control.

There becomes a point where email after email become just so much white noise and the person on the receiving end is far less likely to feel inclined to help. I know I wouldn't.

So apply a bit of patience and grace (there are many others who ordered way before you did). You may be surprised at how much more productive it is.

If impatient and rude is your 'style', then you will reap what you sow. But I'm assuming that's youthful exhuberance/internet bravado. At least, I hope it is.

I was told by Deysha that it arrived at the docks 22/1 so as mentioned earlier I wouldn't be surprised if I had a bit longer to wait, given others' experiences.

I received a letter some time ago (I know, get me) that said they'd advise when the car was on a boat so I could track it. Obviously i'm taking that with a large pinch of salt. I'm a patient guy so i'll let it ride for a week or two but after that I'm not sure who best to contact for an update. Not spoken to my dealer since November and the best informed i've ever been

It's sarcasm. Simmer down. Equally, there's patience and being walked all over, if your car is at the docks, why is it there for a month.

I agree, there are things outside of FMUK's control, and that's a massive issue for ford (worldwide) to step over, I believe that without 'Complaints' (I use that term lightly, I'd sooner call it feedback) then how can a company improve.

My emails are hardly rude, or impatient, i'll email as/when i've got a question, or if i've been asked to send them one, I will, and they're always in a polite manner, if you'd like to audit them, I'll happily PM them over to you so you can give them the nod, Dad . (last remark was sarcasm, don't crucify me by words over it again, I don't appreciate being made a mockery of)

On the note of patience, i'm being patient, people have ordered before me, equally i've been told that schedules moved, my car would be built at certain dates, which throws the whole '12 month' thing out the window.
SteveS think most people are with you on that last comment mate! Someones comment before rung a bell with me, why do the dealers care until the car is in the country, they should do, but they just don't

I'm perfectly simmered thanks. You probably read my post in an angry tone - I can assure you I was as calm as a millpond when composing it.

Furthermore, I'm not making a mockery of you at all (though perhaps you've hoisted youself from your own petard re impatient/rude comment) - just adding some perspective.

Sadly, I am indeed old enough to be your dad at the ripe old age of 44. But age perhaps does teach one patience, as well as perhaps the cliched wisdom.

Speaking as a father, my words about learning to zone-out/ignore whining as white noise is from experiece with a 5 and 10 year old who do it daily!

Anyway, all I'm saying is that in this instance, patience isn't so much a virtue as a pre-requisite. Venting here is cathartic (I know I've done my fair share), but done frequently enough it does get a bit wearing.

Okay.

Anyway, slightly back on topic.

[ame] 4:11 in, some clips of the 5L GT and some recordings of it going around Silverstone. Should wetten the appetites of those still waiting

Mine has been there since Jan 4th also, its looking like a group of us are
waiting for the same boat. :frusty:

Communication between the port and Ford.uk seems poor at best,
the impression I get is Stacey/Karen try as much as possible,
but the port is a not bothered due to rates ford pay ? who knows.

And to top it all the weather/snow storms have set things backward.

Time for somebody in Ford with a bit of clout to shake things up on behalf of the many members with cars on the docks -

Over to you Andy
