I have another post in this section about having to have my Velgens repowder coated b/c I screwed up the original matte gun metal finish by using a harsh wheel and tire cleaner. (You should read that post to see how Scott Velgen takes care of his customers. In short, he paid half the costs, even though it was totally my fault.)

Anyway, I went with a slightly lighter grey and opted for a gloss finish.

Today, I washed the car and cleaning the wheels was a lot easier.

First, the gloss finish didn't seem to pick up and hold the brake dust quites as much. And even just a good pressure spray of the tires and wheels cleaned 'em pretty good.

I finished cleaning them with a cotton rag and a light spray of detailer.

I'm diggin' the new shoes.
