Well I had just ordered my 2016 GTPP in DIB the day before this news broke. I like the DIB though the purple hue in certain light conditions does bug me. I'm really interested in the Lightning Blue now. I contacted my dealer to verify that I can cancel my order at any time to order a 2017 instead. The only thing is I may not get the $4500 off MSRP that I was able to negotiate. Plus, it would mean having to wait till April to place the order and then wait longer for production to start.

Also, does anyone know if there are going to be any body or trim modification or tweaks to the 2017?

So far I'm going to stick with the DIB unless I can see a much better example of Lightning Blue on a vehicle. I just don't trust color samples on a chart. Colors always take on a different look on a whole car. It took me 2 months to decide on a color and then they do this. Ugh!! :frusty:

The DIB is beautiful. Go see the new blue in person. If you have to have it and it will bug you, then do what you have to do. Otherwise, there will always be something new on the horizon missed.

Yeah, I hear you. It will bug me if it turns out I absolutely love the Lightning Blue and I end up with DIB. The problem however is that no one has an actual vehicle with Lightning Blue to look at that I know of.

And this will be the second new generation Blue I buy that gets axed early on. The last one was a kona blue '12 focus, cut it after a year. I also had a grabber blue convertible in FL for a week, it was such a hot color. DIB has so much depth, I love it, gets too many nods

Competition Orange

So Happy I got my CO last this month. There were only 5 available in 250 mile / 4 states (MD, VA, DE, PA).

For european Mustang this is actually a thing since it's out for half a year. How many EU models were delivered to europe until now? About 6000-7000 Mustangs?
According to the charts of mustang6.de you have about 2,6% CO, 9% DIB and 5,5% Guard EU Mustangs.

Estimated to the whole number of EU cars there are around:
170 CO EU Mustangs
585 DIB EU Mustangs
360 Guard EU Mustangs

Add a few more for all that are produced until June, but overall at least CO and Guard EU Mustangs are becoming kind of rare compared to colors like Race Red, Black or Magnetic

I'm not worried about the value of my car. Just saying it's nice to not drive down the road and see several other mustangs. I see black, and gray mustangs almost everyday. Never have seen an orange one.

US guys who say that our cars will be a rare breed cause of the color i think are really just joking knowing someone like you will see the other side of it....
maybe we do it just to get a reaction....maybe not.

at least ill have a color that will be fewer in number than all you guys who bought black, grey or white....like ive never seen those colors before....
you might blend in with all the black white and grey hondas, toyotas, and other imports out there that EVERYONE else seems to buy for the COLOR....
