They are cheap enough! I just used them on the front and had to remove one again as they didn't exactly matched. You need to hold 2 brackets together and use the 2 closest matches otherwise the plate won't look straight once you attach it.

Think I'll leave it to the store to be honest... which means holes. But...

Did you have to bend the plate? There's a curve to the Mustang bumper and these holders don't really stick much out... maybe some extra felt or something in the middle to protect the bumper from rubbing against the plate?

Ive been looking for some foam/felt as well, in a few Ill have my car detailed and will need to remove the holders. I'm thinking to re'attach them with 2 small holes but want to put something in between. The reason I won't re'use 3M tape is because I don't know if it will stick to the nano coating.

I'm asking because of course the front of the 'stang isn't "flat"... and the "shop" is putting my plates on my car in 10 days, and I need to figure this out

(Both plates and car is 600km away from me so I don't really know what they look like)

Did [MENTION=15011]Pichon[/MENTION] give up on his idea? I'd really like something like that, and avoid drilling the front of the bumper... would it be possible to drill "below" instead and avoid tape?

Now that I have the car and have used double sided tape, I'm really happy with this solutiuon. It's really invisible and minimal

I guess you needed to bend the plate then? not sure ours even bend - don't know if the new ones are plastic or alu...

yes, I did a little bend, very few degree.

I completely forgot to add my pics to this thread. I used plastic frames that have these little nodges around the edges. Our plates are aluminium and you click them into the frames where they are held in place by the nodges.

The rear frame I modified so it fits over the factory nubbins that are in the plastic, presumably to outline/install US plates:

End result:

Both frames are screwed directly to the bumper with parker screws. In the front I used a slightly stiffer frame because that actually sat a bit tighter to the bumper. The softer one sortof arched over the fold in the middle. Because the frame has a little wiggle room inside I did not need to bend the plate. It just follows the curve in the frame.

You hide your plate and put it back remotely only when you park or get arrested for having no front plate :-)

Looks good ericcb... I'm guessing there is some flex to your plates then since it would need to bend to follow the curve of the bumper to?

I really don't mind too much how rear... But it's a shame to ruin that front with a plate...

Would really have loved something like this pic on removable thing :(

I'm guessing the Amazon.de solution requires bending of the plates too?

Mine is very very little bent. Not on my PC at the moment so cant post the pic, but in my thread is a pic from above the plate.
