The guy was talking about a fusion headlight and bumper refresh being relevant to the mustang. The mustang had the same design from 2010 until it changed in 2013. That's a 3 year cycle cosmetically. The current car came out in 2015 what reason do we have to believe Ford would change the appearance of the best selling mustang in over a decade so soon? Also if there were design changes Ford would have released them today. Smaller option changes are always announced in the spring. So the day has passed an no mustang news. That means there wont be any major changes engine or Body. Looks like you and the other people like @Spartan who so badly want changes will have to wait ANOTHER year.
I'm fine with waiting another year to get the Mustang I think they should have released at launch. I'll get the Mustang I want with the tech/transmission I want. Maybe I'll just buy the Raptor instead. ;)

I think any cosmetic changes will arrive in late 2017 as a 2018 MY. Probably it will get full LED headlights and a bumper redesign front and back with different foglights. The rear lights are probably going to remain the same. Ten speed auto and maybe a bump in horsepower for Eco and GT.

Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing. In spring of '18, I will be able to get into a Shelby GT350 (if they're available at msrp of course or perhaps used) but since the Shelby is in the price range of the Raptor, well....now I'm thinking twice. I always wanted a true off-roader and the Raptor is perfect, and this new one with 500lbs less, 10 speed and EcoBoost OMG. Problem? the markup!! Just like the first gen, this Raptor will go way above msrp for the first year at least.

If they arent limited I'll ask a friend who's father is VP of a local Ford in the surrounding state so I don't get screwed lol.

Hmm...wonder if that is actually accurate. Last year you couldn't order till mid May if I remember for the '16s.

A very good reason for Ford to already change the very succesful S550 is the fact they are selling world wide.

Just as an example the Mustang Ecoboost and the GT just became 10% more expensive over previous year in the Netherlands. And you can add an extra 10% for each year after that if they do not change anything. The 10 speed automatic for instance could reduce the current cost by 10-20%. The Netherlands is a pretty extreme example but there are many countries with these kinds of tax systems.

By refreshing the cosmetic parts you encourge people to pay more and by improving the drive train you can drive the cost down.

So there is some real big reasons for Ford to refresh quicker than they previously have especially if they wanna keep selling the car world wide.

Same as last year I believe. They all take vacation/etc...plant gets some work...they move onto the next model year.

We'll know changes sometime in late March.

Yep...the line workers take time off and they refit the plant for new production options/changes and refurbish all the equipment.

And that should be quite a big job this year......as I assume they'll be refitting the line so that the Continental can take the place of the Fusion?

.................

Something else to keep in mind... IIRC CAFE fuel economy is set at 33 mpg for 2017. That's gonna hurt. Haven't found out yet if the threshold for the gas guzzler tax will change.

...
I just hope that Ford does not implement AFM on the 5.0 to comply with the CAFE standards.... Just like Chevrolet did with their LT engines.....
