Wheel Cleaning tool

I sure everyone is gonna tell me there have something better but I just thought I would share my wonderful homemade wheel cleaning tool.

Now I HATE cleaning wheels, almost to the extent that I may change my wheels to 5 spoke at some time,

So I cleaned the car this morning and almost didn't bother with the wheels but I couldn't do it, they needed cleaning.

The wheel cleaning brush designed to do the job has seen better days and I don't like the hard bristles anyway, So I started with a sponge but that was just peeing me off so I tried the hand washing gloves] thing. Better but still annoying.

Then I tried a half worn out dustpan brush, But didn't like that, again I didn't like using bristles.

So I ended up in the shed looking for a soft brush or something when I came across a mini roller. Mmm, that may work I thought and it did, kind off. The problem was it is design for painting and the bends in the handle just made it awkward.

But, 2 minutes in a vice gave me a near perfect wheel cleaning device.. It fits beautifully between the spokes and gets right to the inside of the wheel, making the whole wheel easy to clean. Great thing is when it gets worn out I just replace the roller head. I am thinking that an emulsion head would be even better!

I use a plastic handled mole hair brush to clean my wheels. Plastic means no metal to accidentally scratch it!!

What a great idea! Everyone has probably got one of these knocking about. You've convinced me that it's the way to go

I know what you're saying I have the Daytona brushes and they've scratched the finish on my other vehicles wheels. I'll have to try this.

I got the dodo juice home brew wax a few years back and I used it as a wheel wax on my Capri. Worked wonders to keep brake dust off the wheels

Mmm, mine cost £1.99 from B&Q when I first got it, and you can get replacement sleeves!

I use a microfibre wheel cleaning tool, which works quite well as a, er.... wheel cleaning tool.

I didn't spend 40 grand on a car to use a two bit radiator roller. Have some pride man!
