About 1,500 miles after fitting my Magnaflow Competition Catback, i've finally decided to give it some TLC and clean it up (The tips at least...)
Carbon deposits were nice and black, all inside of my exhaust, so they've been cleaned out, after much, much elbow greasing.
For those that, haven't, or just jetwash in and get 'Most' of it out, try the following:
Wet steel wool and scrub the inside, and the outside lip of the exhaust, this will get 99% of it off.
Apply a steel or chrome cleaner to lift the rest
Reuse the steel wool to pull up the remaining carbon
Water inside to wash out any you've missed/loose black carbon
Sponge to soak it up
and then finally micro fibre cloth to remove the rest of the black carbon,
Steel polish to buff it up nicely, and you're back to a super shiny exhaust.
(It took all of 15minutes)
The aftermath...
The things we do for our loved ones (Aka Mustangs...)
