Here’s your first complete look at the 2019 GT500 Mustang’s 5.2-liter supercharged “Predator” engine straight from Ford!
Discovered by sharp-eyed Mustang6G member zackmd1, this diagram shows what appears at first glance to be Ford’s GT350 5.2-liter engine, but upon closer inspection you can clearly see this is no ordinary 5.2-liter but one with a supercharger, a feature widely expected for the next Shelby GT500 Mustang as recently confirmed in leaked documents.
As our man Zack notes it seems the 2019 GT500 engine was mistakenly used when creating these diagrams as the wiring harness in the images is incorrect. It appears as though the images have a GT350 wiring harness slapped on top of the GT500 engine as you can see the wiring going through the supercharger intercooler in a few places while the throttle position sensor connector is floating in space.
One final and very telling hint is the Cobra emblem embossed on the engine cover — as previewed in the recently leaked engine photo and a feature not found on the current 5.2L GT350 Voodoo engine.
