It is a special car to drive and especially to drive with some spirit. Just like the 350 is.It's only special to the ones buying them.
What's the weight of a manual 1LeThe manual Z is less than 3,900 pounds. Its like 3,887 or something like that.
Around 3750 lbs if i remember right. What's the weight of a manual 1Le
Nope, and there may never be. But we can get some clue off track test done on both. The 2 track test that the gt350 has done, both time were close to 2sec slower then the z28. The 1le has had 3 tracks tested and beat the z28 in two of them and was only beat at VIR. The 1le also beat the gt350 in the figure 8. Not scientific, but just shows there very very close.Have you yet posted a side by side race between the 1Le and gt350? Nope!
Don't be bitter because the 1Le is a better bargain then the z28.
This whole thread is a bench race.
Around 3750 lbs if i remember right.
How do you think that z28 would of done on a Alpha chassis 200lbs lighter? If the GT 350/R had 650hp the ZL1 wouldn't stand a chance. Even the 7.0 z28 was HP underrated and still out torqued the voodoo and lost. Imagine a gt350/r with 570rwhp. The ZL1 is done. I'm not impressed by the ZL1, again it's a 1Le with a blower for 20k more. Wooppie shit.
Is GM using a third party? News to me.....I do believe GM must resort to their new third party licensed Dohc v8 to be competitive moving forward.

Buying a car just for an engine doesn't make sense if you are considering money into the equation. Rx8 had an engine reving pass 9000 rpm, then what happened? Put that 5.2 fpc in a lighter car such as corvette or porsche then you have something amazing. However, even with all that carbon fiber wheels and rear seat delete the gt350r is still a heavy car in reality, and lacks torque to accelerate that curb weight. You can supercharge it, but then the value goes down since the car loses its originality. The question here is for under $70K which is the best bang for the buck between the 2 or which would you put your hard earned $? The two are very different but each will have its following, the main reason for the 350R is the Flatplane engine and Carbon fiber wheels, for the ZL1 the Z06 powertrain revised tranny.
Best bang for your buck performance wise is undoubtedly the 1LE.The question here is for under $70K which is the best bang for the buck between the 2 or which would you put your hard earned $? Stock from the factory yes. Otherwise if you can purchase a mustang gtpp for 30 grand and put 10 to 11 grand into it, then it still is the mustang gt. I m not even talking about supercharger upgrade just the rest for that money!Best bang for your buck performance wise is undoubtedly the 1LE.
