I'm struggling.

I'd have to give up "YANKEES" on my truck, Transfer "HUSKERS" off my DD (LE will be my new DD) to the truck, because the Wife will not give up "THE DOGS" on her SUV, so I could order 1964 DNA, My favorite for the LE.

Always keep in mind that particularly cool license plates are more likely to get stolen so somebody can hang them on their wall. If you had a New York State license plate with "YANKEES" on it, it would last about four seconds.

Do some of you really get 8 characters on your plates? In Michigan we only get 7 on regular plates and 6 on specialty plates.

Ordered these. CA DMV says they will be ready in 8-10 weeks. Hopefully, I will have a car to bolt them onto by then.

Old 5 oh, How do you order plates for a car you don't have? At least in IL, you have to have a car (VIN) to bolt them to already. Is CA different?

You can always order plates for your current car and transfer them over.

we just reserve the plates here in CO. They send the plates to my local DMV ant they'll hold them for up to 12 months, so I ordered mine already even though I probably won't get my car until spring.

I get it...yea, I can order for current and transfer...but in IL that's huge $$$. Can't reserve plates in IL...MUST have VIN...I just checked their website.
