7 liters would be incredible, however I don't see it happening.

I'm not sure Ford has an engine that would work as 7 L nor could they create one with boring, stroking that I have been able to find. There are fitment issues with the hood and a taller deck (for longer stroke engines) would require a wider engine bay as well since engines like the 6.2 L were never a 4V design. It would be a massive undertaking IMO.

Sounds cool in theory however ... 50th Anniversary of the BOSS 429 is closing in.
And a 5.2L, single-intake FPC is not a "massive undertaking "?

A 7.0 V8 will not happen. They might be building one, but it's not for a mustang.

This thing won't go in the Mustang. Class 2 and higher have a completely different set of CAFE regs and do not require EPA fuel economy labels. That's why they can afford to replace the aging 6.8L with a 7.0L, in addition to the volume in the Super Duty. Also, it's very difficult to get specific outputs that high for large displacement engines because the accelerative forces are just too high with the large rotating & reciprocating components. They're not going to be content with a 600ish HP NA V8 in this car. It will be forced induction and will not be a completely unique engine (i.e. Coyote underpinnings).

The 7.0L V8 is coming to replace the 6.2L in Ford Super Duty trucks - fact. However, it is only pure speculation as to whether it will end up in a Mustang someday. The next GT500 is supposed to be a twin turbo V8 based on the Coyote or Voodoo CPC from what I understand.

Bore x stroke
Raptor 6.2 ~102 x 95
GT350 5.2 94 x 93

New 7.0??
A) oversquare high rpm 108.5 x 95
Or
B) square balanced 103.8 x 103.8
Or
C) stroked torquey ~102 x 107.5

Max RPM (based on GT350's piston speed)
A) 8100
B) 7350
C) 7100

108.5 x 95 would be a screamer with 4 huge valves and VCT

It could pass emissions with cylinder deactivation or variable valve lift. Coyote-style (different bore spacing) rocker DOHC can be adapted to run VVL &/or cylinder deactivation with special rockers.

Mazda's stuff is ridiculous... they have found a way to make high-compression engines work well, and work efficiently on 87-oct pump gas.

I just don't see a 429 happening in a Mustang. I'd love to see it, but they'd have to relocate SO much stuff to make it fit, and the engine bay is tight with a 5.0L. I mean, they did it once, but cars were very, very different things, then. People could live without AC, there were limited emissions, and engines were much more compact than they are now.
