So, supercharged it is or is there any chance for the twins???? Just a little hint!
We really wanna know!! I'm kind of thinking both now! A SC 302 (Boss) that prices in right at the competition around 60K. Then a TT model to take it to take it to the next level of competition.

I hope I'm right too! I'd also really like twins! I could see them doing a TT car using active aero, more CF/ aluminum but priced higher like starting around 75-80k.
That's the one I'm waiting on!!! Ford please bring it!

I can see a Mustang being offered with the new 7.0 liter truck block in the future. I don't think it will happen in the next year. It will probably happen a year or so after the 7.0 liter truck block has been produced for the trucks. Even if Ford were to lose money on a 7.0 liter Boss Mustang, they would more than make up the loss by getting millions of dollars in free advertisement from the automotive press and by word of mouth. Just think of the billions of dollars Ford spends on advertisements in the media that most of us don't see or pay attention to.

As much I would love to own a modern Mustang with a mega CID n/a V8, this isn't 1969 or 1970 anymore and Ford is striving to be a green, eco-friendly mobility company.

As I posted many months ago, IMHO, 4.0-4.5L displacement TT V8s are where the sweet spot lies and where the V8 R&D dollars will be spent.

A 7.0L Boss 429 is a pipe dream.

Yuck.

How about ecoboost applied to the 5.2 CPC V8?

Now where is MY popcorn?

Seriously. No 6 banger in the top Mustang. Sure it makes power.

But nowhere near what the 8 makes with just a supercharger.

Lethal and hennessey slapped on a whipped to a gt350 and made 800+ hp.

650+ torque.

The 6 is acceptable in the GT simply because the GT is tiny and seran wrapped around it.

Youll Also be more limited with mods etc while your buddies with a ZL1 will be expanding the capabilities of their car. No less power than the nearest comp. and no fewer cylinders please.

Then there's that awful sound. I like to enjoy the exhaust note. Not wonder of a giant horsefly is buzzing around in the cabin.

Mustang history tells us what is to come! It's no secret.
1967 GT500 had a 428 7.0L so we will see a 2017 GT500 428 7.0L with limited production of as few as 3 made with a 2017 my.
1968 GT500KR had a 428 7.0L "cobra jet" so we will see a 2018 GT500KR 428 7.0L with a "cobra jet"

Family hauler, for now
It's almost like Ford intentionally leaked this photo just two days after the 7.0L V8 rumors started. I think Ford saw a pattern of guys getting really excited for a big N/A motor and so they "slipped" this photo out to squash excitement for a big n/a motor. If they didn't, it would have been more of a disappointment to the potential consumer the longer they waited to release real info.

I just noticed the bulge in the hood in the picture of the super charged GT350. Interesting.

I don't see Ford putting a large NA truck motor in the Mustang. It would compete with the Voodoo and would not put them ahead of the ZL1 or Hellcat in horsepower.

That's what I have been thinking. I'm not sure of the actual weight of that engine but based on the pictures and videos posted a 7.0 L looks huge. Like it would add a ton of weight to the nose, just as much as going FI. I do know DOHC engines can be deceiving with weight though. The AMG engine though larger physically weighed about the same as a LS3.
