I'm considering getting away from the staggered tire setup (and summer tires) on my LE once it arrives, and going with a square setup to extend the tread life instead.

Anyone else going this route? I'm debating if I want to go with 275/40s all around or something different.

Thanks all.

Honestly, I would go 255/40 all around, and Pirelli Sottozero or Bridgestone Blizzak tires.

Maybe front GTPP wheels, mounted on all four corners or something, assuming you would have a dedicated set of wheels.

if my ordered Mustang came from the factory with Pirellis I'd refuse to accept it.

Goodyears are ok, however I'd prefer those that are rated # 1 on the Tire Rack survey, and
wonder why Ford aren't fitting these as standard: Michelin Pilot Super Sport:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surve...tio=50&diameter=18&showwp=N&showdp=N&showcm=N

important to me because of the area I live in is the Wet performance.
I'm on my phone and for some reason I can't seem to navigate Tire Rack site at the moment, but did you by any chance punch in the tire size which is on the PP?

I guess there won't be too many models of Mustang you will be accepting then. I haven't seen one without Pirelli's yet.

^ thought some had been delivered with the Goodyears.
can't understand why Ford are using Pirellis, especially since they're more expensive than
the Goodyears or Michelins.
first class car on a 26th class tire ???

Thanks. I've only seen GTs and Ecoboost w/pp or 20" wheels.

Upgrading tires for the summer Pirellis

Our dealership swapped out the Summer 255 x 19 Pirellis for All Season Michelins 275 x 19 on our PP EB for $70. To me it is more than worth it. I will get more than twice the mileage, just as good grip if not better, in all weather conditions. They did this for us when the car arrived. So work with your dealer to see what they will do to keep a customer coming back. The pics show the contrast in these tires and sizes.

Tires pics

Sorry the pics did not upload for the previous comment. Not sure why the site is not allowing pics to upload at this time.

^ check the Attachment Keys in the Manage Attachments, scroll down, might be the size.

thanks Dave, will be asking dealers about changing the tires if Ford won't supply them.

I saw Goodyear's on a V6 with 18" foundry wheels.
