I bet your pedal is all the way to the very top with the softer spring ... you can just feel the 'dead zone' at the top better with a softer spring.David at Steeda on my car my clutch pedal still has some free pay in travel maybe 5/8-3/4 with the original spring there is no free play in the pedal really.

Great to hear, enjoy! :cheers:Done! Took all of five minutes from opening the package to installation. No vice grips needed.
First mod on the new Stang. Me likey!
Thanks for the feedback, Keith! Enjoy it!Installed today, works perfect, feels just like no spring. Good job Steeda!
Installed mine today, feel is much better than stock! If you're having a hard time compressing the stock spring, just get more leverage with bigger vice grips or pliers. Steeda directions are good, nothing broke! Easy! Thanks Steeda!
Now this is what we like to hear!Agreed. Installed mine this week and it feels just like no spring, which I'm good with.

Thanks for providing that info!I bet your pedal is all the way to the very top with the softer spring ... you can just feel the 'dead zone' at the top better with a softer spring.
You are describing the 'dead zone' at the top of the pedal, which is normal. You couldn't feel it with the OEM spring because the OEM is super stiff, but it was still there even with the OEM spring.
When the assist spring is removed entirely, the 'dead zone' becomes pedal play or slop.
Just drive it for a week and you'll not even think about it anymore.
Great feedback! Thanks so much for posting, I'm sure customers on the fence definitely appreciate it!Just installed my Steeda clutch spring over the weekend and the clutch is much better now. I too found when releasing that I was hanging up the clutch or I could not find the correct pressure point, but it was the spring doing it all along. I have driven many manual transmission cars since I was 15 and it was hard to get used to. The 2014 Focus ST I had before this one felt very similar. Very vague pedal feel, but no more. Thanks Steeda!
Well this is a testimonial if I've ever seen one! Glad to hear it sir!I was afraid I forgot how to drive stick, but installed this over the weekend, and I'm back to smooth shifting. Thanks!
You're pioneering the way for S550 owners over there! :cheers:The first three Steeda Springs in germany (one for me, two for other mustang owners)
I will install it tomorrow, really exited to do it
Glad you're enjoying it! #nomoresag :cheers:Installed mine over the weekend. Clutch feels great and got rid of the sag!
Happy to help! Will make sure that gets shipped out to you super quick, Jason!Alright, you guys talked me into it. The comments about feeling like you can't drive a stick, but knowing good and well you can, that sold me.
Can't wait to try this thing. Thanks steeda for the solution!
