Well, I cannot comment on the Stainless Works one, but about the Solo Mach XV -> after almost 900 post and 32000 views on this topic, I yet to see any unhappy user... ;-)
Definitely second this. Mach xv is an absolutely great system.

So I finally feel like I can give a decent review of the Mach xv system. I've had the catback on for about two weeks now and words can't describe how happy I am. Literally every time I drive the car I smile.

When driving around town the system is quiet when you want it to be, however, you can wake it up by shifting above 3.5-4k rpms. As for longer trips, the system is quiet with no drone when cruising around 80mph. Although you can definitely hear that you have an aftermarket exhaust on when applying slight throttle in 6th gear.

I also got a quick iPhone video of the exhaust (sorry for the crap quality) with revs up to 2k, 4k, and 6k.

Hope this helps anyone that is on the fence about buying this system. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Also if anyone can help me give a shoutout to David at Steeda as he got the install done and hooked me up with some ultralites that be greatly appreciated. And of course solo performance for making a helluva system!
Glad you're liking the exhaust and the Ultralites!

Surprising to me too, looks like I really have to get some videos this weekend to get people on board with how good and loud this exhaust really is. The loudness is manageable, but when you get in the throttle, good lord does it sing. I am almost scared to put the headers on. Almost.... :headbang:

I used to drive around with the street race for a couple of weeks and it was way too loud for me. In city driving I felt I was pretty much limited to rpms below 3000.... Otherwise deads were to wake up, etc... :-D

But of course, it's personal. In the end I picked the Mach XV...

I had the race, and for a daily I had to shift under 3k to not wake the neighbors. This season, switched to Thunder. Much more suitable for daily driving.

Race sound is very unique, and erotic after 4k and WOT>

I get that the short pipes are to eliminate drone. (I assume that they are tuned resonators installed perpendicular to the main pipe at a 1/4-wavelength node. Please correct me if I am wrong.)

Steve, so let me ask you this. Ignoring the resonator U-shaped pipes (and their reduction of drone), would you say that the Solo system is equivalent to a stock system with straight pipes after the OEM suitcase?

In a way yes, but with little to no high pitch parts and thanks to the suitcase you won't get it full force like the street race. Cause the street race setup will wake the dead but in a good way and it is still controllable.

Once it settles in it just gets better and better.

I found myself just standing behind my car listening to it idle yesterday...

Totally agree! I only have about 150 miles since it was installed 3 weeks ago.

It gets, deeper and deeper each time I drive it.

Well that just doesn't make any sense. I see no logical reason for the sound to change over time. Usually the listener is breaking in, and not the system.
