Hi Forum,

Running these tyres.
4.5 years old.
Mechanic said they have left about 10,000km
Driving at about 15-20 degrees Celcius.

They are very slippery and I feel worst handling than with the winter tyres (Nokian lol).

Any thoughts on what should I look at?

Sounds like you’re getting towards the end of the life of the tires. They shouldn’t feel slippery at those temps.

4 years is kind of a lot for summer tires. How many km do you have on them? Expect some tires (like high performance summer tires) to harden up and need to be thrown out before they run out of tread sometimes.

With performance summer tires, you throw them away and/or fire sale on Facebook when this happens. It’s just the cost of doing business. My Michelins did a similar thing. I have better luck with continental ECS (now ECS02).

Why would I lie LoL

Also didn't they have a 30,000 miles guarantee? That's like 48,000km?

Thread is ok also.

I had hankook ventus v12 evo2. These were very good in the wet and lasted 28000 miles no problem, i changed them out but they still would have passed state inspection. The sidewall was a little soft for my liking compared to the SC2's. Just put on continental ECS O2's, much better sidewall, not very much more in price, not as good in the wet as the hankooks.

I’ve got about 15k miles, 3 summers, 2 nights at the track on my pS4s .
They still have tread on them but they don’t feel good to me anymore.
Can’t get any traction off the line.
My Continental EC DWS tires are so much better and they are an all season.
Not sure what happened to the PS4S’s.
Time, heat cycles?

You should look at moving to a warmer climate. Those tires should not be used below 40°C.
40C is 104F. I think you meant not below 40F

You were correct I deleted it. 15 C is around 60 so maybe a little slippery at that temperature but not really bad unless they are just too old.

The 30k mile warranty is for a square setup. If you’re staggered, cut it in half per Michelin. If you have a tread depth gauge, get a measurement of each tire. If they’re truly worn, Michelin will prorate the warranty based on mileage on the tires, so you’ll get a little something towards a new set.

Good info Mags, I didn’t know that about staggered. What’s the best way to measure my PS4s tire tread?
Isn’t their a way with a quarter
