No on cutting a slit. Wish they sewed it around but it doesn't move after installed. The hole for the magnet on the other hand needs to be trimmed as the hole is too small and does not line up very well. When attached you don't see anything of the hole.

Never had a problem with comfort even on hot California days. Actually had more issues with factory leather. I'm sure Katzkin are fantastic but shelling out $1,300 is out of my price point and I would rather spend that money on other upgrades. To each his own.

I spent a lot of time emailing Cal Trend. They were awesome and never made me feel rushed. The support is the best. They made sure I got what I wanted and charged nothing extra for my custom seat covers. I got the "I can't believe it's not leather" in black without the cut out for the seat belt runner (for lack of a better word) on the upper outside of seat back.
I would recommend them hands down. Great people. I contacted all major seat cover company they were the only ones that said they will do it.

I agree those shipping prices seem "off".
I don't know for sure but I suspect that USPS is setting that, not Shelby. Might be worthwhile asking if they offer a different method. If nothing else maybe we can strap a filter or two to a moose and send it your way

I find the cloth seats much more comfortable and you don't slide in them and they don't get hot in summer or cold in winter. But if I were to go leather, I'd do Katskin so I could do colored inserts, plus the quality is better.
