Great time c_reber!

I'll be out there this week in mostly stock form. Hopefully I can be within reasonable distance of your time. It's been about 14 months since I"ve been on a course. =)

Last event of the year, now I have some data so the real work will begin over the winter.

Here are a couple of back to back 1:38.xx's to view, You will notice I do not use the exit curbs at turn 5, I normally do but even with the 600lb rear springs I would hit the bump stop on the passenger side rear shock if I went up there so I decided to stay off the curb to save my shocks. I am still having a horrible time getting use to the shifter on these cars, I added the Blowfish bracket and it made a big improvement but I am thinking the only real fix is the Magnum. Once the stock clutch dies I will have to decide on what is next.

I'm so not used to this rapid short gearing. It hits redline almost too fast. Still getting used to sliding the big car around. The stock seats are horrendous and I have 2 huge welts on both knees.

I used BG 5W30, trans and 75/140 gear oil and I'm happy to report that I had zero over heating. Temps were about 55 in the morning and 75 by session 2.

I really think seats and harness are worth like 3-4 seconds on this car (compared to the base seat anyways).

I will do more drifting in this car and get used to the fast redline and hopefully I can put down better times.

Brakes are fantastic for stock brakes. Car is a little floaty in fast transitions. But it's a pretty good suspension for a stock car.

I'm thinking, stock car with solid bushings + stiffer springs would be pretty competitive.

I expected to be faster at Buttonwillow but I guess its' not too bad considering a 14 month hiatus and a new car.

Hell yeah Dave! Wish I could have made it. Look forward to seeing the video.
Video is up, there was at least 5 S550 running on Sat and Sunday, all but me were in the novice and intermediate group. The instructors had a bad day, we had a few cars in the wall and i believe most were instructors cars.

Overall it was good time.

What rear spring rate does the equate to at stock location? I am not sure of the exact motion ratios of the two locations. I think I have heard .3 thrown around for stock location?

I have no idea I have not measured anything yet, we wanted to get the car on track this season and see what we had to work with, gather some data, and then start dialing in the setup. This winter will see some major changes to the car and the aero should be greatly improved. As a result of the added aero and testing without much aero we are going to bump up the rear rates into the 700-750 range to start. The other limiting issue in the rear is over all shock travel is not that good due to the short coil assembly in the rear.

I run 650s in the rear and do not have any problem getting into the bump stops. But I am not sure I have the same internals in my Ridetechs.
