Runners, Where do you put your Key?

My plate carrier has a small pocket in the front where I keep my key while jogging. With all the gun nuts and Sons of Anarchy wannabes in this country, I don't feel comfortable leaving my house for anything without body armor.

With previous cars, I carried the fob in my hand, but sweat did sort-of corrode the fob/key. I've also tied actual door keys to my shoe, but not sure I'd like the bulk of the fob on my shoe.

Of course he can. I can't imagine running with a gun. At least recreational running. I am a Soldier and run with guns all the time. Lol

Keltec P3AT, very small .380. And yeah, I always have a CCW on me, except when in ABUs on base. Color me paranoid, don't care. Phone is also mandatory, getting to be a crusty old senior NCO so my wife demands that I have contact ability when heading off on foot several miles from the house. Already had a coworker of hers die at 43 years old while on a run getting in shape for fitness testing.

So yeah, I wear a European man purse. Too old to worry about looks, function trumps all.

I use a Hill People Gear runners kit bag. Holds my wallet, phone, fob, + a few oz for steel and lead. Works awesome! There is a bungie that keeps it from moving at all while you run.

Phoenix is no slouch when it comes to crime. But you're not going to catch me carrying during a jog. A cumbersome-free jog is a pretty safe roll of the dice I'm willing to take... on any day that comes along.
