Doing what you truly like is the way to go. Ignore the haters and the trend followers.
Agreed. We live in America and so everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Mine just happens to be the right one!

I'm on the fence on this one. I'm a OEM appearance kinda guy, but was going to black out both ponies(EB) when I got the car. I just can't bring myself to eliminate the only chrome on the car. May try the easily reverseable plasti-dip one day and see how I feel.
*edit* forgot about exhaust tips! Black ones would look cool, IMO
*edit* and chrome around headlights.
*edit* and ponies on wheels, lug nuts, lol...

The 5.0 badges are fine with me, but I don't like the mustang in the grill or the GT on the rear panel....hope to replace them both very soon with a black mesh grill and the Ford Racing replacement panel.

I don't care for stick on badges period, especially shiny ones. I think it looks cleaner and less cluttered when there is no badge to break up the lines. Usually I peel all of them off when I can, blacking out the ones that have pilot holes since I don't want to deal with filling those in. That's the only reason I still have the 5.0 badges on the fenders, which are blacked out like the front pony. I'm pretty happy that there's no more fake gas cap in the back and I wasted no time getting a blank rear deck lid to remove the GT badge.

I love the pony, don't mind the GT emblem, and could live without the 5.0 badges.

Dipped all my badges. This is how mine turned out:

And a guy at our meet has a mechanical pony!

The chrome is just too gaudy. Brushed emblems would've looked better on all colors.

It just doesn't look right, there is nothing chrome on the outside of the car except the badges. I get it on 60s-70s-80s car where there was chrome trim and accents it blended and looked like it belonged.

At least brushed would go with most of the wheels the Mustangs come with, except the black PP.

The chrome just looks out of place with no other chrome on the outside and sticks out like a sore thumb.

I'm blacking out the badges because the chrome just doesnt work on the yellow. I dont want it to disappear, I just want it to pop in subtle way. That being said, I'd never remove the pony as it is Mustang.
Yellow and black offer the largest visual contrast of any colors, hence why warning signs on the road are yellow/black. It won't be subtle ;)

I seriously don't understand why so many people want to black out things like their badges, ponies, wheels or roofs for that matter. Personally I think THAT lookes incredibly cheesy and cheap.

If you don't want a pony in your grille then why buy a Mustang to begin with?

But to each his own of course.
I love my pony and S550 GT badge on the trunklid. Both are perrrrrfect from the factory. To each their own. If you don't like the pony, don't buy a pony.
You guys are a little over the top with the don't buy a pony crap. I've never own a car where I said I love every single little thing about a car. And if I didn't like it. I changed it. A plastic grill emblem doesn't make the car. And for pete sake there still about 47 mustang emblems on the car.
