If you've ever driven the GT350 in anything other than a straight line, you wouldn't be asking this question. Also, sound.
Well i'm in a corvette Zr1 now...so I don't think I'm missing much. lol

True but I don't want to sacrifice handling capabilities for straight line performance. I was just curious if a totally stock 15-17 GT could match a 2018 in the 1/4 mile if it was brought down to the 3500 pound mark.
Pick up the Ford Power Pack 2 for $600. Keep your factory warranty and break into the elevens... no weight reduction required.

Speaking of solid rears I'd like to see a time where they offer the Mach1 with solid rear, and NA version of the next GT500 engine, and a BOSS with beefed up IRS that has suspension improvement and NA version of GT500 engine.

I know it wont happen, but it would be cool IMO.

A question for any experienced drag strip users. Given the above figures what would you estimate the 0-100 mph time was?

I'll be happy if it's better than 10 seconds.:D
Around 8.5s, its well below 10s.

Uh, ok? You were comparing a GT to a GT350, and there are plenty of reasons to still get a GT350 over a '18 GT PP. The ZR1 was just a wee bit more expensive than them ;)

I own a GT 350,and to be honest I feel kind of bad that stock for stock the 18 GT is faster in a straight line .
Unless you are a "hot shoe" like burnin4 most average drivers are going to run mid 12's on a good day .

I know auto vs manual, and the strip is not where the GT 350 shines( I have a couple other mustang GT 's for that:cheers: )...but still .

It looks like it's time for me to get "my Whipple on "-I was never going to see a road course anyway .

Going to take my chances with the stock motor and not build like I planned before but will do at least OPG/CS( if it blows I will give will@whippe a call )

Livernois is not far away so there S880 package is looking like a good deal and should be enough to avoid being embarrassed by " stock 18's" at the strip .

I think ford shot itself in the foot with this car...similar to chevy, making 2 different cars (gt350 vs GT) too close in performance. The ZL1 and Z06 are in the same boat.

Well kinda. I don't think Ford really planned an '18 GT350, but people wanted it so they went with it.

IMO The weirder overlap is the ZL1 and Grand Sport.

How were the 2017 sales? I wonder if it was they built to many engines and are making 18's to move them. There are still a lot of 17 GT350's on lots unsold.

I'm too lazy to look it up but if I remember correctly the old gen 2 coyote S550 was 0-100 around 9.2 seconds
We literally just got the first dyno pulls on the gen 3 and the gen 2 is already considered "old".

That's right, it might be slow compared to a motorcycle but for a cheapish car it's quick.
For a stock factory car its moving well.

Enoch has run a best of 9.1s in his A6 with tune + long tube headers.
I ran a best of 9.9s with GT 350 kit in my M6, can't change gear quick enough.

The new MY18 A10 is sub 9s out the box, a good launch maybe as quick as 8.5s.

Which is pretty quick, a Focus RS is around 11s, a BMW M4 DCT around 8s and a 911 Carrera S PDK around 8s.

A C63 AMG 6.3l is around 9s

In short its pretty OK, I'd say its fast and I am sure, tune, headers will see it closer to 8s flat, maybe just under. :)

Proper fast is around 6.5s which is typically supercharged auto mustang, R35 GTR, 911 Turbo territory and an automatic is a must. Or just buy bargain of century, Golf R, Stage 2 it (ÂŁ1500) and be doing 0-100 in 7.2s. ;)

Mac's Mustang is 800HP, his best 0-100 is 7.4s with the manual, so if a lightly fettled MY18 A10 can do 8s flat, I'd say that is pretty rapid, the supercharged Stang though once into triple digits is leaving you. Could always add an SC to an MY18 though of course and be faster again.

My plan is just panel filter and tune, see how it feels, if UK (RHD) get bodged headers again, then some long tubes, that will be enough, will be quick enough.
