Does it feel lighter than the stock knob? (hope not since I'm ok with the stock knob weight...in case I go with Speed Dawg)

Wonder if its lighter or as light as the CJPP knobs.

Much lighter. The stock knob is actually weighted fairly well.

I'd say the majority of the aftermarket variants will be the same case.

Agreed...I felt the stock knob when my Barton was going on. It did have a nice weight to it. More weighty than it looks actually. I'm surprised these cue ball type knobs are coming in at a lesser weight.

Most of them are plastic w/ a machined adapter pressed in. So, they weigh next to nothing.

I honestly cant imagine using a lighter knob than stock and enjoying it. Im actually curious to know when some 500+ gram knobs that aren't massive are coming out. A heavier knob is a no brainer imo, especially with the mt82. When I first started looking around I wondered why I couldn't find any information in the product description regarding weight on the CJPP/roush knobs

That's why I like the Raceseng knob. It has a set screw with the thread adapter so you can line it up without locktite. Quality in the design of parts is way better than using something like Loctite. Plus the 735 grams is sooo much better than those 400 gram and below knobs. I installed my Barton shifter yesterday and with the 735 grams knob it is ridiculously nice!
Any issues with the reverse lockout? It seems most of the heavier universal knobs have to sit up higher or the reverse lockout will hit it

500 grams, has reverse lockout cutout, comes with jam nut not loctite.

I can attest to your point, I had a CJ Pony Knob , like the one that 95% of companies are making in the 2-1/8 lightweight resin. I couldn't take the way the shifter felt during spirited driving, so sloppy and disconnected. Ordered a weighted knob from boomba and the first thing I noticed was the ease to shift, major improvement on feel, better than the stock one, too. The installation doesnt require loctite since most of the knob is made out of brass, they instruct to heat it up a bit with a blow dryer to allow the pattern to line up, and it gets snug like the factory unit. Sits lower as well. The material for the grip is also more forgiving that the resin. Big cudoes to Boomba for a fantastic product. Just a pointer, maybe take your name from the ring of the knob, I darkened it a bit, but would have prefered it just not being there everywhere. Lol.

No issues at all because it slides up into the bottom of the knob as opposed to sitting higher. The Ashiko is just a bigger knob. I wasn't sure I would like it until I tried it. You will find that you you "can" (not everyone does)over-grip the smaller knobs and it can slow your shift times in the same way that in fighting, a punch should start with the hand not clinched to speed up the movement without contacted muscles. Just my analogy and not a proven fact, but the point is I now flat palm the shifts and allow the heavy knob to work. It may just be personal preference. BUT I like what it is doing for me.
