There is an update on torque news, take it with a grain of salt but it is a somewhat reputable auto blog. 2018 twin turbo GT500 700 to 800 hp. No mention of awd, sorry I don't have the link at the moment but it's easy to find on google.

Awd hybrid, like a laferrari 918 spder etc with v6 eco boost. Fastest 0-60 with this set up and at the forefront of tech, Ford can do it. Definitely stuff the competition, even corvettes with a set up like that. Shit, id trade in my gt just to be on the waitlist for one.

That assumes the GT350 will still be around at the same time as GT500.

My guess would be that perhaps the '17MY is the last of the GT350s........and that gap would then be filled by another N/A car (Mach 1). I wouldn't see it using the FPC, but perhaps a CPC version of the 5.2 The GT500 could then be a twin turbo/SC version of that CPC 5.2 engine.
I doubt Ford will pull any model from the Motorsport effort. The GT350 will probably roll on unchanged, at least for R-C/R-S purposes. If the 1LE or z28 have a Pro Motorsport presence, the GT350 won't go anywhere.

I think the new Mach 1 will be in the GT Equipment Group (i.e. Convertible, PP/TP/R, California Special, Premium, Black, Mach 1) and fit in under $50,000.

This is exactly what my sales guy at Ford told me.
We were looking at their (4) GT350 in stock.
I asked him about the GT500, he said that they couldn't more power in it with RWD. He suggested that they were going the way of the Focus RS, Turbo and AWD.
Then he went on with stating that it would probably get a tuned version of the 3.5 TT debuting in the Raptor.
And my svt dealer told me that the gt350 WILL NOT be flat plane crank due to balancing issues.

Word. Those set ups are insanely expensive and very heavy unless you use even more expensive materials to keep the weight down. The ZO6 can do 0-60 in less than 3 seconds. If you need something faster than that, you're nuts haha.

Faster is never fast enough.
