Hi everyone,
I’m new here have a stock 8000 mile 13 GT500. Was considering selling and getting a 10 speed 18+ vert and going e85 full bolt on to start. Possibly a blower down the road. What are the hp limits on the s550 convertible chassis? I’d keep it mid 600rwhp when all said and done. Also what option is needed to get the gauge cluster like the 2020 gt500?

650+ to the wheels (have a VMP 2.3 blowing about 12 to 12#) is a non issue for the chassis. Getting back tires to stick is another matter. Do the blower. Don't bother with E85 for mid 600s at the wheels. Makes a fuel availability problem you just don't need for what you want.

Dyno'd 700 to the wheels... bbc headers, exhaust, custom tune and stage 2 Whipple.... Like a convertible GT500 with a manual gearbox for me. Total blast. Would skip the E85 unless you live in an Iowa corn field with it plentiful.

E85 is over a $1.00 gallon cheaper than premium here and is readily available. In theory, E85 will only cost you 1 or 2 mpg, assuming reasonable driving habits. But, I don't know anyone with an E85 tune that has reasonable driving habits. If they did, they wouldn't need the E85 tune.

Not sure about 1 or 2 mpg drop. Even with reasonable driving your fuel mileage will drop by about 1/3rd. So if you were getting 24mpg on gasoline, I'd figure on roughly 16mpg on E85.

I wouldn't change to E85 for anything. What if you went out of town into an area where E85 is rare. I personally don't see the advantage.
Then you swap to either your flex fuel tune(available for normally aspirated cars)or a pump gas tune. Not really a huge deal.

question: are cabrios allowed on the drag strip? (most of not all do not allow them on HPDE's)

Local drag strip requires a bolted-in roll bar. Light bars are really not up to code.

Depends on the event and location. We have an American Muscle Car (not the vendor) show at our local 1/4 mile twice a year and they tend to ease up on the rules and let any one go as long as they pass tech. My avatar shows my launch. If you starting pulling under 12.0 seconds, they get a little antsy.

I went with 3.0 Whipple, LTH, fuel system, injectors, Oil Pump and Crank Sprocket Gears and E85, through the 10spd I am currently putting down over 830rwhp, it is an absolute blast to drive! Transmission will be next but no issues at this point.

Yeah so the chassis will take exactly the same as any other Mustang... Having a piece of sheet metal on top isn't exactly magic to make the entire vehicle stiff.
As far as the drag strip rules go, it can change by both location and event. If they're following the rules of a large governing body, they might want rollover protection.
If it's a private event or a smaller track or just an event where the rules don't apply, then you get some leeway.

Even if the rules don't allow you, you can usually get a couple runs in. This isn't my first convertible and at every place that had rules, I used to get one run in with my car and you get a warning. And then run again and they might give me another warning or they might stop me for the night...

My '16 GT Convertible provides enjoyment of performance driving, with its tight suspension and loads of low-end torque, and open-top cruising and the most phenomenal audio I ever experienced in an automobile.
