The Dark Horse is a colossal disappointment. Over priced, overweight, underwhelming. The effort that companies and social media influencers are going to, to sell parts or tell you it's NOT a turd should tell you something.

If you have to remove interior pieces of a $70k car to keep pace with the outgoing model that cost over 20% less...you have a remarkablely poor product.

I am definitely not a DH target audience, but if you head over to Mustang7 forum, you will find threads of people who seem to be genuinely impressed by DH and consider it far better than e.g. Mach 1 (for different reasons). So, maybe there is a target group for this car, it just is not "us" :wink:.

I think Steeda did not dyno the Mach 1 together with the S650s so the numbers are probably a little skewed. Don't understand why nobody on YT is directly comparing the Mach 1 to the DH as the two cars are quite similar, or at least the S650 GT. Could it be because the results would mean "bad press" for the S650?

Mach1 has (stock base) Magneride, bigger sway bars, K brace, strut tower, rear differential cooler, transmission cooler, the engine oil cooler, under chassis front and rear belly pan, splitter, active exhaust with 4 1/2 inch GT500 mufflers, Brembo breaks, bigger wheels/tire set up (19x9.5/19x10). Also throttlebody manifold and intake. Mach1 weight roughly depends on automatic or manual, premium package with heated and cooled seats, the elite package with the extra speakers and sub in trunk, handling package adjustable, camber plates, even bigger, wheels and tires (19x10.5/19x11), front splitter, lip moldings and rear splash guards also a bigger Spoiler . These numbers will never be accurate, gas, different scales, etc..

550 Mach1 roughly (3868-3915)lbs
550 GT (3730-3932)lbs (counting convertible)
650 GT (3730-3933)lbs (counting convertible)
650 Dark Horse (3879-3993)lbs

The Darkhorse stock supposed to have more premium materials and (heavily/ heavy) revised instrument cluster (aka dual screens), dual intakes, dual throttle bodys, & dual prices… DH comes with(19x9.5, 19x10)wheels also has a carbon fiber option to save that weight… Has stock Recaro seats, Forged piston connecting rods, heavy duty crankshaft, engine oil cooler, trans cooler, and rear diff cooler I believe just like the Mach1, light weight radiator, strut tower, K-brace and Magneride. active exhaust 4in tips, Brembo breaks front and rear, spoiler and splitter. there’s also changes in the body etc.

Im just surprised with the smaller rear glass & probably some weight taken out of the trunk. So to me it should have been a lot lighter. But it does kinda look to have a Camaro quarter panel maybe thats leftover from GM, could explain the difference.🤔

About 130 lbs according to Car and Driver reviews of the two cars.
Well, at least it hasn't gained weight like the new AMG GT (I know it now has AWD), which is even heavier than the new SL. How do you spell p-i-g?!

I’m telling I have yet to see a DH clock a weight less than 4100 lbs. I’m not sure if that’s with a driver but all scaled weight I have see in 3 cases were all over 4100

@beefcake Terry what was yours? Was it with or without you in it?
