You'll have that surrounding the "Shelby" crowd.

The elitism expressed by many drove me nuts on the GT500 forums back when I had mine, and little has changed....the South Park episode with the hybrids comes to mind.
It's why I don't go to SVTP anymore. That and the mods have no problem with casual racism.

Did you get repeatedly berated for attempting to talk about supercamaros when you merely drive a Dodge Avenger?
Yep..

I explained that I wish I could justify a Camaro/Mustang/Challenger (again)..but I couldn't.

I was then dismissed and attacked.

Yeah I find it funny that you can't be a car guy according to them unless you have a VERY pricy car OR the same car they own. I have spent more time pulling and working on the tranny and engine in my Escort then most of them likely do on any car. They probably take them to shops and then say "I installed new cams" when they didn't even pop the hood themselves.

I may have had an Escort but I could also drop its tranny in under an hour by myself. Do a full head/cam swap and do full SCT tune with a pro race package. All I needed a shop for was dyno time and any machine work.

Camaro been doing that stock for 2 years.....oh come on we know someone is going to say that on that other site.
Yup they do, and its always interesting they still never mention the extra .7 liters of displacement at the same time, lets see GM do that with a 305Ci motor and not a 350.... All things being equal that is =)

That happens everywhere in our car culture. There is still plenty of elitism expressed by some groups in the GT crowd toward EB and V6 owners.

Regardless, I don't see why this thread has devolved into petty generalized flaming of one subsection of mustang owners when we can witness the salt mine over in the Camaro forums instead...

I can't wait to see some more tuning results - the 18' GT is looking great! :ford:

I always love when people claim to be car enthusiast or "competition is great" but then hate the competition and most other cars

It's about as ego centric as our GT350 section.
That's kind of an insult... lol

I loved my '15 GT so much that I haven't even changed my pic to the Shelby. Sometimes ego is subjective. I've met cool folks on the GT board and the GT350 board...a couple of cornballs on both as well.

Now he is complaining about people buying base GTs and modding them. Crazy person.

You sure have a chip on your shoulder there, pal. It must be on your mind a lot, to keep bringing it up...how you go to a sub about a car that you decided not to buy and fluff yourself up about the decision you "think" you're making by putting down the other car. Of course, that's all in everyone elses minds.

What a piece of work you are. Please buy the Chevy.

I didn't put down anything. But please. Continue to be wrong if it's easier for you.

Only egotistical assholes can think a post pointing out a good deal is "putting down" their car. Then again you've also proven to have reading comprehension problems... repeatedly.

This. Doesn't take a lot to read between the lines here. There's really only one common factor - someone is fanning the flames.

Back OT: I'm fighting not to add a PP2 to my R...or now this 10spd is looking killer for a DD...even though I've never owned an Auto in 25 years. I have another fun car as a DD right now, though...and an 18 would be a little more expensive than this...and then I have 2 S550s....I like the diversity..so that's really the only reason I'm not going to end up with an 18 (likely a PP2).

You're right, I didn't mean to group EVERY 350 owner. Just the assholes who seem to think that pointing out markups slowly going away is insulting to them.
