Asking any yes/no question on a blog will result in opposite recommendations. You must do your due dilligence to determine which to believe.

Tip: Treating your engine prudently is ALWAYS the best guide.

OP, so much misinformation is available on the net and even in an enthusiast forum like this. Use your head, let it warm up.

I wait until my automatic transmission fluid is above 150F to give it the beans.

I let mine warm up a bit.

On a funny side note--
I grew up next to someone who would start up his Cadillac in the winter every morning and immediately start revving it up to max rpm to "warm it up" :eyebulge:

Paid attention to engine temp this morning. 28 degree here at 530am. It took 2 miles almost exactly to get engine oil to normal temp easy driving. I don't have the luxury of letting it run in garage when I get called in.

I use the remote start so its always a few minutes before putting it in drive....
How long does remote start actually keep the car on before shutting off? I've demonstrated remote start to a few friends and it seems like the damn thing turns off and starts the alarm after like two minutes.

There is a setting for auto off after remote start. I upped mine to 15 mins if I recall correctly.

What oil should I run to keep oil temps cool? I notice my oil temp rising when I get get on it hard. Couple of hard pull on the highway roll racing. Not in the yellow but the hand definitely moves towards the yellow

More oil cooling. As for the oil, I like AMSOIL SS. As for the weight, dependent on your weather and driving style.

drove my car in the cold for the first time the other night and thought there was something wrong with it. the car was shaking a bit and I thought i had a blown tire. normal driving, not spirited driving.

makes sense now. oil temp was low and the coldness made the road and tires harder. I felt every little bump on the road. it was smooth sailing after the car warmed up.
