I just purchased a 16 GT with a boss intake. I noticed the idle was jumpy and surging. So checked for leaks and found the back bolt was loose. Pulled intake and seen the bolt was snapped. I tried two different extractors and it grabbed once but didn’t come out. There’s no hope in getting it out now. What are my options?

It super rare for those intake bolts to actually seize. if it's not flush grab it with vice grips and unscrew it. or if it is flush, take a torx screwdriver, hammer it lightly into the drill hole and back it out.

That’s GNARLY!

Timesert/helicoils will work.

You’ll be tapping new threads so if you can a bolt that fits the larger threads that an option as well.

Short of getting material welded in and new threads tapped the solutions will be kind of mickey mouse. Fortunately these are accessible and the bolts are low torque.

I just installed an intake on my 17, Ford’s torque specs for these bolts include an angle turn after the initial ft/lb measurement. I really disliked that and just gave all the bolts one last good nudge after I hit the torque spec.

From the pic it looks like there is no bolt left, just buggered threads. I'd get a M8 helicoil and be done with it.

OP. Just checking if that hole has half a bolt in it that’s been drilled out ??

I agree with dan. KISS method. buy a heli coil kit Comes with everything you need in one pack.

This will allow you to drill it out the next size up , tape it and screw in new thread and your all good.

I broke one last year, passenger side front bolt, when installing my Whipple. Heli-coil it and you'll be fine. Watch some videos on how it's done if you've never done it before.

I will try the heli-coil. Thank everyone for your help.
