Nah, my xpel started to peel on a corner... stripes won't do that.

In my experience the stripes chipped and scratched a lot easier than the surrounding paint. You lose the self-healing benefit of the PPF without covering them. I've only seen a GT350 with full PPF over the stripes and I didn't like the air gap around the edge ... I don't know how much better I'd like PPF around the stripes and then separate PPF on them.

I had hoped to remove my stripes earlier on and get at least my front end covered with PPF, then I'd put higher quality stripes on top and be able to replace them every few years if needed, while leaving the PPF underneath.

I have the front end of my GTI covered with Xpel and I've noticed a piece around a curved leading edge lifting. I need to trim it :headbonk:

Met up with a couple friends and went on a drive this past Sunday. Stopped for a photoshoot and got a few rolling pics. Trained one of the guys on the basics and had him get a pic of me and my car, it came out awesome!

The North Texas Shelby Owners group had a 4th of July cookout this weekend and we threw together a red, white, and blue photoshoot on the spot. One of the members brought a couple drones. It was a great day!

Thanks yea it photographs well! I never knew matte stripes were an option but the owner of the AG said he bought the car that way from the factory. Another owner said that matte stripes are an option on regular 18s (possibly just AG, I don't know?)..
