FWIW, I love my Barton shifter. Plus the flat stick version looks sick. 7 years and counting now!

The flexibility and adjustability of the Barton makes it very appealing. And then there is MGW. Decisions, decisions. Thanks to all for your responses.

Like boost , what we have is going to be what we recommend. With that said , I have driven all 3 mentioned. I have a MGW and of course that is what I would recommend. Side note they are a work of art to look at . Dam car porn .

$70 for the Steeda bracket solves 85pct of the problem.

Rest is clutch itself and fluids.

Steeda is the only shifter to retain the factory reverse lockout right? My wife drives the mustang every once in a while and on my WRX with a aftermarket shifter would sometimes end up in reverse at red lights thinking she was in first. So yeah I wanna retain the lockout

Pretty sure it's been illegal for 30+ years to sell any shift mechanism that doesn't have reverse lockout of some kind.
The WRX shifter I installed had nothing but a heavy spring to overcome for the lockout. I know WRX stuff and Mustang stuff is worlds apart but last I looked into Mustang shifters it said no lock out or the push the shifter down to bypass the lockout

The stock shifter is so bad anything would be a worthy replacement. $500 for a shifter hurts though.
the stock shifter is not that bad, the mounting of the shifter sucks. You need to mount the shifter to the trans. I installet the FTB shift mount bracket for $100 bucks and while i was in there i put in a shelby short throw lever I found on ebay for $125. Night and day difference, shifts great now. Yes there's a lot more NVH in the shifter and I love that too.

Honestly if you like the stock shifter feel and throw, just get the Barton two post bracket, stainless clutch line, and change out the fluid. It made a world of difference for me, but I eventually went with MGW because I wanted a shorter throw.

Loved my trans mounted Barton short throw shifter. I never experienced high rpm lock out that I would occasionally get with the factory body mount shifter.
Same for the blowfish, the hard mount to the box is the key. The throw of the stock stick is just fine. Remove the slop, from the stick mounted to the tunnel. Problem solved

MGW XSPEC Standard is doing great for me. Great mod that you experience every minute every time you drive.

I will be buying a short throw shifter for my 15 Mustang. As with everything, the prices have increased. I’m considering Mgw, Barton and Tri Ax. The Mgw is $499. The Barton hybrid is $439 with their current 20% off. The Tri Ax is $599. My question is if the Tri Ax THAT good of a shifter to command that price tag? Or do I go with the Barton if they’re all close. What would you do? Thanks.
Go barton hybrid transmission mount you will not be disappointed
