Just trying to get an idea what everyone is paying to have their headers installed. Thanks

Down in Houston I got them on a SPECIAL for $300. Not sure what the prices are now. Most other people quoted me $450-$500.

300-500 seems to be the going rate. The initial cost + install prices are why I will be going with the MAK cat deletes. Easier to install, and similar results.

Paid $500 for mine. It's also worth asking the shop if they have experience doing headers on the S550 yet. I've been told that it's a little more difficult on the S550 compared to the S197.

This thread is a far cry from the spring install cost thread from a few days ago:

I see a lot of times shops quote this job way to cheap their first go at it. This is a great value for the customer assuming that the job is done correctly. 8-10 hours is what we spend time wise on the job and you can bet it's done right! Our labor rate here in NJ is $115/hr so you have an idea. Local Ford Dealerships actually charge more per hour.

I probably could have found a place to get it done cheaper but I'd rather pay a little more than have some some guy trying to blaze through the job cutting corners because they quoted it to low.

I hope that's an over estimation so that it matches billable hours because there are quite a few shops down here that will have you out in 4-5 hours with everything done right, granted they still charge $500+ on average with the exception of the guy who does it for $250. His limitation is that he can only do 1 pair per week as he is a master mechanic for Porsche during the week and saturday he can use his stall for other stuff.

So, $920 to $1,150 for the install. That's way too high. That sounds like a shop here in Tampa that quotes book for everything and get little repeat business. I would say that the average is $450 to $600. Any higher than that, you are just raping people.

I'm in Upstate SC and I would do it for 300 bucks. ASE master and Toyota Expert Tech. Anyone in the upstate area that would want it done let me know.
