To echo the sentiments of the moderating team over on Camaro5, who banned me and countless others over the years for doing exactly what you and few others are doing on this site:

"If you are not on this site to discuss and celebrate the American icon that is the Mustang, then why are you here? If your sole purpose on this site is to defend the Camaro or simply set the record straight regarding comments made about it, your tenure here might be short-lived."
Let's be thankful that this site is open enough to allow civil discussion about the cars we love (and those we love to hate). As long as people aren't being jerk-asses, we should embrace them (as we stab them in the back with 4 camshafts and 32 valve stems). :ninja:

I made a request when I first started to allow almost anything other than Race, Religion, Sex or Politics. I cringe when I hear "bailout".

However, this only applies to my active threads, it's not a site-wide wise-ass-pass like many believe. The very person they hate is literally the only reason they haven't been banned.

I made a public request for new Camaro representatives here. Be patient with the new guys... and don't transfer the previous bad taste in our mouths over to these new guys. The other guys were awful...

I am not enthusiastic about the new Camaro. In fact, the styling may become stale before the car is available. It wasn't enough in many areas but the styling is gonna kill it.

From what I hear, this GT350 vs. z28 has been long over. I also believe that this Voodoo won't be answered by the Chevy Camaro for years... if ever...

I have serious doubts they can defend themselves against the GT500 either. The SS level could be the Camaro's only shot at a real win. Even then, it could only be limited to magazine articles.

Right now, in real life, the GT and EB are scary fast for the money. You can't find a faster car... The GT is considerably faster than the Base Boss 302 in Solo. Appearently the track guys are faster too. You need to watch though, some of those guys are dropping weight so...

part of being a car guy is messing with other car brands. It's just tasteful trash talk. Only to be backed up at the track. No matter how fast someone is or how well it will handle there will always be someone faster or smarter then you/me

Why do the Camaro boys continue to act like the 1LE is a Camaro model like the SS, ZL1 or z/28. It's not. It's a package offered on a SS. That's it.
Yes and no.

On the order blank, sure.

But I would argue that the intent of the 1LE and its target customer differ from the "regular" SS and its larger customer base by enough to warrant it being known by its package code. At least conversationally. Hmmmm . . . didn't the Z/28 start out that way, way back when?

I'll freely admit that one of the more recent mods I've done to my own car was inspired in part by the 1LE's specs. To refer to it as "Camaro SS-inspired" would be a direct attempt to mislead and confuse.

I never got any pats on the back for the left field 110.5 inch wheelbase call. Nor the track increase call... Or the MSRP info correct, they estimate it to start at 36,500 ($5 dollars off) but could swell further into my $36,505-$37,995 target. Weights will swell for sure... My 2SS should start exactly where I said it would, $39,995

Looks like my V6 and 2.0 figures might be correct. I said around 3600lbs and Chevy agrees with me. I had the 2.0 around 3530 I think... That might be too light... The 300lbs lighter can't hold water, the V6 is set to only lose 100lbs...

Still, NO TR6070 SUPPORT, NO LT4 SUPPORT, NO CONVERTIBLE SUPPORT and NO SERIOUS BASE EQUIPMENT.

The weighting game isn't over yet...

The SS's weight is still a confusing mystery, I can't get one to weigh 3700lbs no matter what. I have worked forward and backward from every number they provided from every comparable model... The lightest I can get one in 3790lbs... I can easily make one 3880lbs too using a heavier bias for equipment weights.

I say there will be a weight loss Track Pack with lightweight 18/19's (20-30lbs), AC delete (20lbs), Mat and Trunk material removal (10lbs) and Recaro's (10-20lbs). A battery relocation and downsizing (10lbs). I say it's a $3000-$4000 dollar option plus $2500 Recaro's

Performance Pack will be 285/295 19's, suspension work, 14.5 ATS-V brakes and coolers. I say $3000-$4000 but gains nearly 75lbs

MRC adds 20lbs adds $3500 dollars

1LE Pack (FUTURE) competition pack
Track Pack and Performance Pack plus unique 305/19's, suspension and shafts. ATS-V Tremec. Could use a 15/15.5 rotor too... MRC will be an option.

The 1LE Pack will cost over $6000. I'd say between $6200-$7500 plus MRC at $3500.

That wouldn't be bad for under $45,000 not including MRC's.

Is the Voodoo over 550hp/440tq?

It looks like Ford as actually letting people take the car home for the weekend. Like people are allowed to talk about some things.

Not suppose to let others drive so DONT DO THAT!

But, the 550hp number was talked about again in a ride along recently.

Could the GT350 be a 555hp/444tq V8 without DI?

Can the R lose nearly 200lbs while the GT350 and TP keep a slight weight advantage over the GT and GTPP?

Could we see a base GT350 under $50,000 and an R start at $65,350?

Could the R really be under 3500lbs???

I got a feeling Fords going to knock this one out of the park. Modifying my own Boss and keeping up with what others have done with them, I think 550hp is within regulated reach, hell older NA CJ's can do it, just got to meet emissions. That means a good chance of a healthy bump for GT's in a year or 2 to keep up with the GM zombies.
